I never thought I'd want an 8 string. Not ever.

But I saw a picture of a pink ESP Custom SC8 with a gold floyd and HOLY SHIT.

I wouldn't want to use it in the standard 8 string tuning, I'd put the middle 6 strings in C# standard and use a low G# and an F# maybe?

Has anyone on here gotten a custom ESP with an 8 string floyd yet?

Does anyone have any more pics of this guitar to fuel my crazy desire?

I was thinking a different colour and maybe a neck pickup instead of the middle humbucker.
    Also not pink.

What a sweet guitar though. am I crazy? haha

The good news is that ESP is clearly comfortable building with the Floyd 8, as they've built a few for Stef and at least one for Javier Reyes. Some shops aren't familiar with 8 strings, let alone an 8-string Floyd.

But the things to really watch out for: the nut radius is a bit strange (18mm IIRC) and different from the bridge radius (20mm IIRC). And the string spacing is wider than the typical HipShot hardtail, so you may want a wider neck to make sure you have enough room. I prefer one truss rod (with carbon rods on either side to reenforce), but if you like two rods, make sure they don't interfere with how the nut needs to screw on to the neck.

Thanks for the info, I don't even own an 8 string yet so I'm not sure what my preference is. I'll have a look at the string spacing.

I also have a feeling this is going to be a $10K guitar so that puts it out right out of line with what I would spend on a guitar. But I can dream.

Unless the USA factory would make it. then maybe it won't cost as much as the Japanese Custom shop. Maybe? haha

also, This is me HEAVILY dreaming at this point.

Schecter certain can do something similar, but not exact of course for trademark reasons. But it would be far less than $10k

Possibly, but I'm Canadian so most everything this specialized and custom will be that much hahaha.

Thanks. I'll keep my head in the clouds!

I spec’ed it and asked for a price estimate, but the quote was never reviewed/no one gave me a price. However, if the MSRP is $4.5k, and street price is $3.5-4K, then it is going to cost at least 5k+ without a doubt.....

I wish I got the price quote back, but I never did, which is weird because I just spent that much right there too lol [owner doesn’t like me for some reason maybe?] If I do find out, Ill let you know......I asked for it in blue, but I dont think the difference in color would be huge affect to price - if so, ill update

If you get a quote from an authorized dealer, please post as well, as my authorized dealer, and who i recommend to everyone, @zimbloth , or Nick at the www.axepalace.com, is the best place to go for ESP CS for sure, they are one click above us in the sponsor/ads/dealers

I'll put in a quote with my Canadian dealer, just for the hell of it. It will be for a reverse headstock and a neck pickup though, I'm sure the reverse headstock will have an upcharge.

    I'll let ya know.

Basically just a production model B8 with the Hipshot but in the same Pink as Stef’s actual CS model.

What's your quote? I'm wondering the same thing, but also considering maybe grabbing a production B8 and refinishing it.

Though I wonder how many people we'd need to get a small run of these made. I'm pretty in love with it. I won't pay $6k CS prices, but if we could get it down to low $4k, I'm probably in.

Fixed it. For some reason the picture worked for like a minute and then just disappeared? Hopefully It works now as the link is through Dropbox instead of Google Drive.

Could have been in your cache. Not quite the Stef soft pink but I actually have another horizon currently being finished in basically this exact shade and am trying to determine what logo color/material to do, so helpful to see it here!

I’ve been having the same GAS! I tried to get a quote from the EU dealer but their English was rubbish and they kept telling me to find a LTD from a local shop

You had me until “minus the Floyd.” I just want a Floyd on an 8 string in a pink or purple, and I’ll be happy.
