Who is using what to trigger samples live? Looking into getting a setup for kick and maaaaaybe snare but we'll see. Mostly looking at getting something to run the kick sample from my band's album live. Looking for something rackmount, allows custom samples, and is relatively cheap.

So what's everyone using for triggers and modules?

the only rackmount one I know of isn't out yet, but for cheap custom samples:

    Roland TM-2
    Roland TM-2 Trigger Module | Sweetwater.com
    https://www.long-mcquade.com/?page=search&SearchTxt=roland+tm2&x=0&y=0

    Alesis Sample Pad
    Alesis SamplePad Compact Percussion Multi-Pad | Sweetwater.com

    Alesis Sample Pad Pro
(not available for order anywhere yet, but is supposed to be only $299, and has 8 pads)
SamplePad Pro 8-Pad Percussion and Sample-Triggering Instrument

    Alesis Sample Rack
(again, announced, not available for order on the mailorder sites yet)
SampleRack Percussion Module With Onboard Sound Storage.

Right now I just have an Alesis DM5 (no custom samples) and ddrum acoustic pro triggers. I plan on getting the Alesis Sample Pad Pro, as I have a bunch of samples I want to trigger, sub drops, reverse snares, piano hits, etc.

Thanks man! +rep'd. This may be a dumb question, but Ddrum offers several triggers for kicks and I don't understand the difference?

I highly reccomend the roland triggers they seem to track smoother then my Ddrum pro triggers and use 1/4" tea instead of xlr so more fitting for my needs as for triggering sample Alesis has a small sampler device that uses cards for memory I think you could run a Alesis triger io into it and be set

The red shots are just horrible - Hence the price tag.

The higher end Ddrum triggers I've used in the past and they've been pretty good, but can't comment too too much on top of that.
