I am starting to get back into the recording game after a few years.

I am using Cubase Elements on a Mac mini. I tried EZ Drummer 2 and I really liked the sounds, but I don't really need the other stuff that is bundled with it like the midi files and groove editor.

Any suggestions for a great sounding drum library for free or low cost?

Is for free and honestly it sounds pretty good for samples. It is basicly an EZ drummer clone, but it works pretty good. I just did the following with it:

The samples are somewhat processed from the get-go but you can still color it alot from the initial sounds with some EQ and compression.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to check it out when I have some free time.

Also cool track, makes me want to work on my speed picking :shred:

I use and really like Steven Slate Drums http://stevenslatedrums.com/
They are more finished and ready sounds. Some people like the freedom to get drum samples and then EQ or mix/etc them the way they like. But I don't want to spend all that time with the drums, so I like the "finished, processed already" sounds.

The power drumkit is great for a free product. Yes, the samples are already fairly processed, but not so much that you can't get different sounds out of it. I've had Steven Slate Drums 4 for some time now, and it has everything I need and more. I actually prefer it to Addicting or Superior. It feels easier to use, but the complexity is still there for when you want to do more advanced stuff.
