Yes and they are sick
I love synthwave. I am a huge Gunship fan(two of the guys are from the band Fighstar btw)
Thank you very much for posting this. I love 80s synth music. It's very intense and it takes you on a journey. Music today doesn't do that as much.
This isn't The Midnight, but it is really good nonetheless. The vocal tracks are outstanding!
Yes! The Midnight, Robert Parker, Timecop1983, and FM-84 are running this genre
Hands down the best song by The Midnight:
Sunglasses Kid and The Panic Division is also quite nice.
The Midnight is awesome!
Plus so many more projects like it out there now.
Gunship is probably my favorite band.
Just pre-ordered their new album due out Oct 5th.
NewRetroWaveSynth stuff is just about all I listen to anymore.
Don't care for the dark/sinister stuff at all.
I like the happier more upbeat 80's sounding stuff.
Edit: just checked out Fightstar...wow, I like them!
I finally gave this album a listen earlier today....needless to say, it's all I've listened to back-to-back today
There's a comment on the video that says that "Running In The Night" would have been a big hit if it had come out in the 80's. I have to agree, that track SLAYS. It just oozes 80's. This is my new favorite genre hahah
Double post but they just dropped another new song on their Bandcamp, someone put it up on the Tube already:
I am extremely happy to see people on here share a passion for synthwave in all its iterations. I got some people hooked on FM-84 and Timecop 1983 recently, I'd say Wolfclub (or W O L F C L U B, however they spell it) and Orax. Here's my contribution to the thread, probably my favorite darker sounding synthwave song.
Edit: *I'd say Wolfclub and Orax are two of my other favorites (in addition to FM-84 and Timecop1983).
I completely agree. That song would have been MASSIVE in the 80s. I can’t stop listening to it and it’s nice to listen to music that puts you in a good mood. This song could have easily been perfect for a climactic part of a hit 80s movie.
IMO that honor goes to this one:
New singles... I like "Lost Boy", "America 2" after a first listen is just ok.
Oh man, America 2 is such a grower. I love Tyler Lyle’s voice
I thought those in this thread would be appreciate this new album:
^One of my current favorite “bands.” Bought the album, seeing them live soon. That said, I don’t know if they’ll ever top Near Dark.
