I'm now accepting pre-orders for the first run of carbon fibre picks! The run will be done some time in August, and picks should start shipping in the September-October time frame.

Two sizes are available, a "jazz" size and a "standard/jazz" hybrid which is the same shape, but 20% larger, closer to the size of a standard pick.

Pricing is $25 each (with a few bonus Decibel matte Delrin picks thrown in as well) plus $5 shipping/handling.

    Order here:

Cool, vids, although at one point I became quite distracted by the UV7PWH with the original Edge 7 trem.

Looks like a great pick though. While you can only tell so much from a YT video, the tone with your pick seemed every so slightly more aggressive, but also glassier.

I'll be ordering some of these on pay day. They seem immense.

How will carbon fibre picks wear? Once they start wearing, will they "fray" rather than "dull"?

The carbon fibre is laminated and pressed into solid plates in an epoxy matrix. As it wears, it produces fine graphite dust, which acts as a dry lubricant on the strings. It doesn't fray or splinter.

They don't seem to wear any faster than regular plastic picks. The material is quite durable. The pick dust is just more noticeable because it's black.

    :bump:

Still plenty of time to get in on the pre-order! The material is here in the shop... should be running it in the next few weeks.

So it lasts as long as a regular plastic pick and "lubricates" the small area in which I pick while also adding black dust over my guitar? For only $30 shipped? Where do I buy them in bulk?!

They look really freaking cool though, that's for sure. :agreed:

I'd be more inclined to get it as a cool little collectors item. :)

FYI, i'll be running these in the next few days, and doing the shaping and polishing as i get time over the next few weeks.

So far, the J has been outselling the SJ by about a 2:1 margin. I'll likely be cutting an entire 18" x 24" sheet, so i'll do them up in this proportion, and extras will be available for sale.

    NOW SHIPPING!

My apologies for the lateness in these going out, but all the Canadian and U.S. picks are picked and packed and ready to post! I'll be dropping them in the mail on my way home from the shop.

Customers in Europe, Asia, Australia and elsewhere, i'll likely be posting those after Christmas. The post office is going to be a ZOO for the next few days, and i've got probably a dozen envelopes all going to different countries… for my own safety, i think i'd better hold off from taking up too much time at the postal counter. ;)

I still have plenty of picks from this run on hand, so future orders will go out much more quickly.
