Anyone have more pics of this V?

Also, interesting notes from Mick about the QC at BC Rich that made him leave for Ibanez. He spec'd a future signature Bich with a longer scale and a Kahler tremolo. They sent him a short scale guitar with a neck angle for a Floyd Rose but with a tuneomatic instead and no string ferrules, so the strings have dug way into the body.

The luthier just couldn’t bring himself to build such a stupid guitar right (widow headstock on a bich? Edgelord “HATE” inlays? Ick). So he fucked it on purpose to prod Mick into leaving.

That’s my conspiracy theory at least lol

Timing is right for the Hanser purchase, leading up to it, during, and immediately after were pretty rough/transitional periods for BCR, including AR and the Custom Shop.

It was bad enough that bad checks, poor bookkeeping, and missing shipments were very common.

Oh no. And the current CEO came from Hanser, right?

The Bich with the widow headstock is awesome though, BC Rich still ended up releasing it as a non-Mick signature though.

Widow headstock only works on Widow body imo. The Beast headstock is better in every way on Warlocks, Vs, etc. The Bich needs the classic 3+3 to look right to me

Can I ask some advice from BC Rich owners? I've never owned or played one. There is a Kerry King V for sale 2nd hand. €500. Is it worth a punt? It's got the Kehler trem and active bc rich bdsm pickups. Thanks

The BDSMs aren’t the worst. They’re not active though, and sound nothing like EMGs. If it’s the bolt-on neck version, I’d pass personally

The BDSM are quite decent in that price range, but an older bolt-on import Rich? No way...:ugh:

By the time the BDSMs became a thing, the bolt on imports were…. pretty rough, especially the Kerry King ones

500 eurodollars is a truly mind-boggling price, but not in a good way.

For those in the know, if I was to place a deposit on a preorder for an Ironbird 6 string, would the guitar ever be built?

There's a retailer in the UK who has dozens of BCs up for preorder, but I wonder if I ordered one, would the guitar ever turn up?

I’ve had my preorder in for over a year on my Ironbird. I’m sure I’ll get it, some day. Once the guitars are actually built

I just checked out the site and was like “honestly I’d even take one with all these specs I don’t normally want, just for the shape”. But they just don’t exist anywhere to check out. So same boat.

I do kind of get the feeling that this incarnation of BC Rich is another failed business venture. I don't think it's through their own fault, there's been the worldwide pandemic, the sudden and ongoing supply chain issues that arose as a result and now a worldwide recession. It's sort of been a loaded deck against them from the word go.

At the end of the day, if they cannot get product out, then there are no products. There's a bunch of cool pictures, but until orders start getting delivered, then there is no product!

They apparently are still building guitars, just not in high volumes. I can see photo evidence that the custom shop is. There were also the Stranger Things MII Warlocks and the white Indonesian Ironbirds.

Loaded deck or not, they have customer demand, and, when they manage to get guitars out, they sell. They have revenue. I want them to succeed, but, if they mismanage into the ground, it is what it is. It would be really sad though. Class Axe couldn’t even kill BC Rich.

It's pretty much a coin flip if you can outrun the eventual implosion and hope that the next crew who buys the name and IP can get you something close to what you order in any reasonable time frame.

That's how BCR has been for the last three or four decades.

I suppose if you buy from a decent dealer they'll just refund you when your patience runs out.

I know it has been said before, but the Widow headstock was ruined for me forever when someone mentioned that it looks like a headstock got teabagged.

I have 3x B.C. Rich guitars, all with the 6-inline pointed headstock. That's the only way to go for Warlocks. The Beast headstock could be argued on Virgins, but the 6-inline reverse harpoon fits just fine.

Did you know that this opinion is horribly wrong or is this fact new to you?
