Are you able to grab it with a needlenose, and yank it through?
Just ordered some needlenose pliers, hopefully it'll work. Still a pain in the ass that I need to use tools just for a string change, god forbid I break a string during a live show.

You need to push the whole bridge back on the studs then bring the saddles forward, increasing the distance and its much easier to string up. The Quad is a very adjustable bridge, sounds like it wasn't set up properly from the factory.

There's no adjusting the bridge, it's one solid piece from the tailpiece to the under-saddle area, only the saddles are adjustable. I shouldn't have to move the saddles for every string change. Not only is it a waste of time, but that means I'll be messing with intonation every string change.

I had to do it for strings all the way up to the G string (3rd) so it has nothing to do with gauge. There isn't enough wiggle room in the string cavity in the hard tail section of the bridge in order to make a preemptive kink at the end of the string to get it over the saddle.
If adjusting with the grub screws doesn’t work, just try forcing more string in. They’re flexible. You can maybe use an allen key or something under the string to encourage it upwards while you’re pushing. But I think tightening the grub screws to push the bridge back is the way to go. The first thing I noticed on yours was that the saddles looked so far back that they were at the edge of their adjustment range.

There are two set screws that sit against the studs from the back of the bridge. Ive got a fair few Quads and was involved in getting the solid brass kahler reissues made a few years ago. The bridge itself doesnt sit against the stud the set screws do

Oh man you were involved in getting the Kahler reissues made? How did that go? Also, any clue who’s making the Quads for BC Rich now? I’ve seen some custom shops done in the last couple years with Quads on them, but I don’t think they’re the Kahler ones

Most the CS builds since then have had the kahler ones, you can usually tell by the kahler locking studs which have a domed stud. It was an initial run of 200 but they've proven popular so have kept building them. The current ones on imports are korean built like BCR have used for years now, theyre great but on the high end stuff its nice to have solid brass.

Pestering Kahler and getting enough 'pre orders' in place to make it worth their while, I was having a Moser built and it had to have a Quad.

I just want a batch of the import Rutan 6ers to come out. I've never seen anyone with one or any distributor sell one. I could be wrong, but it seems more like they do not exist.
Pretty sure the Rutan import is suffering the same fate as my Mk1 Kahler Ironbird preorder (preordered over a year ago). Announced, but not launched yet

I need you to look this guitar in the eye and tell me his stuff looks cool...

"I thought Brian built a few models that I thought looked cool with his own company. I do like this 7 string strat that he made.

>I know it's not for everyone.<

The picture is from Brian's Facebook page".
