Buy one so I can drive up and try it.
Got my V2 Archetype yesterday as well, thanks to OP for the hint!
Everthing jarledge said in his review is spot on. Great addition to my amp setup!
Pulling out the treble knob for sustain boost helps for the high gain stuff on the SS channel.
Tight switch sounds super great in each mode, I wish it was part of the midi switching.
Graphic EQ is awesome and really adds the final touch to your sound.
I'm so bummed I passed on an Archetype. Those look bnew.
Hahaha I wish I could lol as prices are quite tempting. I'm not sure though that either amp was £2299 new. It seems far fetched for Chinese built amps.
KH is tweaked to compensate for the input signal having a "cocked wah" effect.
They actually were that price new, amazingly. Hence why guitar guitar has all of these amps still in stock years later.
I'm more tempted at EOD due to the KT88 and price point but the 667 looks really interesting. I would consider getting it if guitar guitar had a decent finance 0% deal but at £1199 I can think of a few other amps I'd get before buying this blind lol.
Yeah, I remember with my standard V2 that the clean and SS distortion channels reeeeeeeeaaaaallly paled in comparison to the tube channel. Not bad, definitely useable. But spent 99% of my time on the tube channel.
I'm still planning on grabbing a T2HL if y'all motherfuckers don't buy them all first.
After scouring endless forum posts, it really seems a case of one guy having a failure with a T2HL and everyone on the internet going "Oh well, they all suck then"
Likewise, I read a bunch of comments from people who owned both the T2 and the T2HL saying it's a dead ringer for the big full size head.
Whereas almost every post saying it falls short is some second or third hand, anecdotal, so-and-so said...
But really any solid info on the T2HL is extremely sparse. There's tons more info and clips on the T2 HH and V2 Archetype by comparison.
Er, I mean yep. That T2HL is a piece of shit. Nobody buy it. They all come broken from the factory and have no headroom. Not worth it at any price. Complete garbage. I'll have to do the forum a favor, buy all of em.
Looks like all the Randalls have gone? If they have, I bet that asshat Essex Recording Studios bought them and will sell them for 5x a much.
Yeah I know. Right after my post they vanished
I emailed asking about it. I'll let you guys know what they say if anything.
Shame. Would've been a perfect birthday present for me. Oh well.
Christ, I thought I was the only person unlucky enough to encounter that total dbag. Long story short, he got a great deal on a guitar I was reluctantly selling and spat his dummy out (or should I say pacifier) due to his inability to read correctly during listing and communication, making all kinds of demands.
He tried buying my Jackson HT6 but offered way below what I was selling it for (which was already the cheapest used listing at the time). You just know he was going to sell it for 3 times what he was offering.
Kept it in the end anyway
Weren’t you just posting a sarcastic comment a few days ago about “Oh No! Better sell my liver for an amp when there’s still 10+ in stock hhoooo bbooiii!”
The human liver market ain't what it used to be lol
I don't get paid until next Thursday. Given how comparatively undesirable the T2HL is, and how many they had in stock I thought they'd last until then.
I had been hitting the refresh button on the webpage for the T2HL literally like every 20 minutes or so.
Went from 8 in stock to "this product is currently unavailable" in a couple minutes, along with literally everything Randall they offer.
That’s weird how that happened. I wonder if someone bought them all, or if they just pulled all the Randall gear for some reason.
You have to admit, buying them at that price and reselling later is a pretttttyyy smart idea.
they got sick of shipping randalls to US addresses
Not gonna lie that did cross my mind lol
The 667 I received from GuitarGuitar was a dud. Amp stuck on channel 1. Tried to have their online chat guy reserve the remaining 667 as a replacement but he was as useful as a chocolate teapot and said I have to use email support which gave an automated response saying wait 5 days for a reply. Amp sells out in the meantime. First and last time I'll be dealing with them.
As for the amp, well channel 1 sounds fantastic but none the wiser regarding the other 5 channels. Quality control suspect (one rubber foot shorter than the others also) and there's no way I'd be comfortable gigging the head without a tech overlooking the internals.
You think you’ll return it? Or pay a tech to fix it?
