Please educate me! I have been looking at getting a Boss DR-880 since it first came out. I don't feel comfortable paying $500+ and find out it sounds like crap or doesn't do everything I need. I would love to have a (PC/MAC) program that will do what I need. I know a good portion of you will chime in with Superior Drummer. It seems to do great for originals and cover tunes provided I program the tracks from Guitar Pro. Here is my problem. Does it have built in patterns? So if I tell it to play a slow blues track in A minor. Change the tempo mid jam? Like a jam track. Is it capable of doing that? If Superior Drummer is not able to, is there a program out there that will?
Superior drummer is just that...drums. It does have pre-made patterns. I'm pretty sure that the Boss DR series has the "jam" capabilities. You could always just use SD and record your own bass track.
