Hi, I have Ormsby Hype 6. The pickups are slanted, so regular pickups won't fit. I searched for bkp they make 10-14 deg pickups but Ormsby's degree is much higher than that. Actually I like the stock tone too, so I wonder if I can change the color of that pickup cover. If I can't, could I just by a set of regular pickup and use the stock baseplate to make the pickups slanted?

Thx. The only question is, if the pickups have same length of regular pickups just slanted. If so, I will just get stickers

People always say painting pickups is bad but I feel like if you unscrewed the pole pieces and masked everything really well you could spray a perfectly nice coat of paint on the tops of the bobbins.

ya I feel like people do this all the time.

I'd say just plugging up or taping off the poles should be good enough.

everything inside is enamelled or waxed. as long as you aren't apply heat anywhere it's no big deal.

Those pickups are very specialized, I don't think you'd be able to find stickers that would fit them.

If you're not trying to make it reversible, just paint it. Peter Steele did it and it looks awesome!

yup. you can swap the baseplate between the two, or buy a replacement baseplate. A guy recently installed I think it was Aftermaths in a Hype 7

also its dumb to point out but jsut in case, this only for open bobbins, you cant slant a pickup cover (or an active pickup)

no they are not. They are regular F spaced bobbins for 6 string, and the standard 7/8 string bobbins. Only thing different with lets say a Dimarzio is the baseplate

if you are really in doubt, grab a ruler, measure your Hype pickup, go to Barenuckle site and check the pickup size diagram

Thank you. I measured it with a ruler, it is regular F spaced pickup. I bought a pair of F spaced stickers to see how is would be
