It's a potential new treble booster day for me, and I'm trying to decide between the Catalinbread Naga Viper and the Laney Iommi pedal. Does one have a clear advantage over the other?

I've never played either, but I have several other Catalinbread pedals and have been happy with all of them.

I haven't tried a standalone Naga Viper, but IIRC that circuit is built into the Sabbra Cadabra, and that pedal is awesome. I wasn't aware of the Laney one, though. Need to check that out.

I want one just to turn up the obnoxiousness by plugging it into my LTD Viper on one side and my Peavey Vypyr Tube on the other ... Get me a viper train going, choo choo, all aboard.

I use a PlxFx Bion Boost, and it’s a Naga Viper clone with a few mods.

Really great boost, very musical gain. It’s my always on pedal. I say grab the NV or look into the Bion boost.

The Naga Viper is an awesome pedal for what it is. One of the best out there IMO.

This interests me, b/c I'm already using a PLX-FX Spirytus as my main gain already.

Oh nice man, so you already know Paul builds great pedals.

There’s one for sale on RT for like $80, thought about picking it up just to have a backup lol

I have the Spirytus as well, use that for speed metal when I wanna go fast. Love that pedal.

Naga viper is the best Rangemaster type around. Really great boost with an input cap blend so you can add some meat. It gets pretty loud too and will make an already dirty amp really scream. I hate side jacks but it's worth it.
