has anyone tried or has been able to get a piezo in a dc800 from them?
They did it recently in a DC7X, so I don't see why not. But as always the rule with Option 50s is call with your credit card in hand.
yea, I'm going to ask for that in mine too. basically cataclysmchild's spalted/birdseye maple with the thin neck profile, kiesel 8s and graphtech piezos. should be a monster
To be honest, I haven't seen anyone make an 8 string piezo bridge yet. Just seven from what I've seen. That's also a huge factor; can it be done.
I don't think anyone's made one out of the box. There is an RG2228 which was modded for piezo though. Details can be found here.
Certainly not a mod for the faint of heart.
i was told its a $200 up charge for a piezo on a dc800
That's not bad at all, personally.
I thought I read somewhere that one can get individual piezos.
That's extremely reasonable. I would have expected at least $400-$500.
I'm pretty sure Hipshot will do them on their 8 string bridge.
