Capo for fretboard clamp?

    So my fretboard is lifting slightly near the nut on the bass side of my Epi LP Special. It's not too bad yet but the low string is starting to buzz when played open.

    I can probably pretty easily get in there with a pipette and glue, but I don't currently have any kind of clamp that I'd trust on my neck.

    What I DO have is a fairly heavy-duty Shubb capo with a tension adjustment knob - would cranking this down at the 1st fret hold the fretboard to the neck firmly enough? Am I stupidly missing some important part of this equation?
