so far from hearing non compressed tracks of all the fishman pickups, with my studio monitors and monitoring headphones, those 3 are my favorites but i cant choose between them, i will list what i didnt like about the other ones if that will help.

kse voice 1 sonds like fluence modern v1 with something less gain and character, and voice 2 is basiclly voice 1 with less gain.
tosin abasi voice 1 just sonded like it has a wah pedal on at all times.
and i dont want classics for this guitar.
its a 6 string one so dont recommend stephen carpenter set

Abasi bridge is very hi fi and bright.

Moderns sound like Moderns lol. Modern alnico is really good in the bridge.

Townsend are thick and awesome. For some people they are too dark, definitely not as bright and cutting as the Abasi/Moderns, but really thick saturated sound, kind of like a DiMarzio imo. I have a Ibanez rga with modern alnico in the bridge and Townsend neck, sounds killer and matches really well.

I don't feel like going back and read a million threads lol, so im gonna ask what kind of sound do you want
dont have a specific sound, need it work with what i play currently thrash, groove, nwobhm, devin townsend, punk, funk rock, funk metal, motorhead, hard rock, blues and i also recently started playing more slash from apocalypic love. so kinda that, i know its a bit of a lot, but right now my main focus is thrash ,groove, devin townsend, punk, blues, hard and the funk stuff i mentioned. as those are the genres of the 3 bands im in rn

I have not used the Devin Townsend set but id likely get those . I have used both the Modern and Will Adler set , they’re not particularly versatile . Both bridge pickups from those sets are basically hard rock and metal only , and the neck pickups are decent for cleans but aren’t that great split . Devin’s sets were voiced with cleans in mind so I think they’d be more versatile , although I have no experience with them

When i wrote this here i didnt really talk about cleans, but yeah i found out cleans mostly depened on the amp and with my current amp whatever guitar or pickups goes into it, it does cleans well, but yeah i think devin set has it eall active voice 1 vocie 2 is a mid output passive humbucker and voice 3 is a single coil

Not sure what you are playing musically but for me the Willie Adler set would get my vote. If for no other reason than voice 1 in the bridge is Fishman's best high gain tone out of every pick up. 2nd is probably Fluff's bridge voice 1. WIth Devin's set voice 2 is actually his single coil tone if I remember right. He doesn't use voice 3 much at all. But long story short out of the sets you listed The Wll Adler set gets my pick. If I was picking for myself I'd get a Fluff Bridge pick up and probably mix it either with a Townsend neck or a Classic neck.

The Devin set is-

1-Active
2-Passive
3-Passive + Split Coil

I haven’t compared them to other Fishmans but I dig ‘em. Devin used an EMG81 for the majority of his career so it’s not far off that, a bit tamed in the high end and it’s always been easier for me to dial in a tone with those than it is the 81/85 I have in another guitar.

Often when I’m double tracking, if I’m using that guitar I’ll do one pass with the Active setting and another with the Passive, it’s enough of a variance to not sound like identical tracks. The Passive/Split setting, well, nothing sounds like a legit single coil, but I dig it more than any other split-coil in a humbucker I’ve ever played.

Heard theyre based between the emg 57 66 and eng 81 60, he started using the 66 first with 81, and then started using the 57 66 until he switched to fishmans

Im not gonna get a fluff first since i cant find a fishman neck standalone to combine it with, maybe ill do it later.

oh right sorry about that . I don’t know why I took this post as you asking about the most versatile fluence set . It doesn’t hurt to have pickups that can handle a lot of styles . Moderns and Adler’s aren’t quite 1 trick ponies , but they’re not the most versatile .. My favorite sets have been the Classics and Abasi’s but you’re not interested in them lol . I’ve never really considered Abasi’s pickups as having a cocked wah sound , but then again I grew up using Dimarzio’s so their slight cocked wah tone became pretty natural to me .

I can make most pickups i use versatile using my amp, i mean i used a l500xl and suhr ssv (its way better than the 59) and did a lot of genres of it, thing is i live in a apartment building, so less feedback and hum is what im after thats why i tend to like actives

Well you asked for our opinion I gave it to you, i'd choose Devin's set but if you're interested in another set go for it . Can't really go wrong with any of them honestly, they're all good

The Modern, Townsend and Adler sets are the only 3 Fishmans I've played. The Moderns I don't like, they have a cocked wah sound to them that I can't stand. I currently have the Townsend and Adler sets. The Adler set sounded decent in demo videos I've seen, but in person they just do nothing for me. They have a little too much low end, a really ugly high end and overall just not enough output for me, and I'm even using the two main amps that Will uses(Mark IV and TC-100). I'll definitely be swapping those out of the guitar I have them in. I think the Townsend set is perfect IMO, it's balanced very nicely in the eq, and also has very high output, which is perfect for me, although not everyone likes super high output.

The only downside for the Townsend set for me is that they aren't available in chrome or gold. In short, I recommend the Townsend lmao

Any reason you're dead set on Fishmans? I'd have thought for all of those genres a lower output, splittable, passive pickup would do better.

Not dead set on fishman theyre just versatile, usually high output pickups work for me better.
