Brass Saddle Filing On Apollo Bridge

Managed to get some higher gauge strings in but the 6th string has popped out of place during heavy palm muting. Apollo says they just file these a bit to get the larger gauges in.

So I am looking for advice on file type recommendation to file out the brass saddle slot a bit and any tips when working on a saddle slot that looks like these, kind of triangular in both directions.

Yeah pretty sure that's not how it works

Try a smaller string wrapped in sandpaper

And you only need to widen the center, not recut the hourglass

Triangular needle file will do you well, just run the file straight across the top to widen the groove and lower the string.

Another issue related to the Apollo headless from a second Harley Benton that arrived today. This one has two nut slots that I noticed are off center from their headpieces, 2nd and 4th string, see picture. Is this a fix by file or does this need a new nut?

If you don't have problems with strings coming out of the slots I'd just leave it, I had a Strandberg with the same deal and it's way more of a pain to fix than to let it be IMO.
