I suppose I would consider anything made since like the year 2000 modern, but everyone probably has a different opinion. For me, Agalloch's Ashes Against the Grain is the best use of chorus since that album was released. It was never cheesy or overwhelming on this album, never robbing them of their glorious tone.

What do you guys think? I know that a lot of early rock and metal was loaded with chorus, and it grew out of style for various reasons. Who has made good metal with it these past 15 years or so?

Other than the chorus on Hetfield's clean tone, I don't like hearing it all that often.

I think it depends on the type of chorus and the style you play.

Geordie Walker and Billy Duffy are my main early influences and inspired me to use a slight chorus even on overdrive to thicken the tone and make it smoother too.

^ as soon as I read chorus in the thread title Mithras was the only band I can think of.

But also I think Morbid Angel uses it a lot that's where Mithras got the idea, but in honesty I don't listen to MA enough to name any specific tracks.

I have always liked the use of Chorus in the chorus and bridge of Linchpin. Not the most amount of Chorus, but it kicks in at the right moment....
