    Was unaware of the new Sylosis and it's definitely in my top five.

    How could you forget Meow the Jewels?! Literally everything is better with cat samples. Still waiting on a remix titled Black Dahlia Purr-purr.

    Honestly, never bothered with Meow the Jewels, or if I did then at best I only listened to "Close Your Eyes and Meow to Fluff" but even that's iffy. Just seemed gimmicky and I didn't really want to indulge it going any further.

    I actually unironically loved it, and vastly preferred the mixes to RTJ2, above and beyond just the cat noises. But that's a bit of derailing, so back to awesome 2020 albums;

    Going against myself after spinning the new BCI a bit more now, this is my #2 and I'll have to test it against RTJ4 to see if it's worthy of the #1; I didn't realize just how good it was, but I've slept on it as I mentioned.

    Looks like Hoss632 beat me to mentioning “Manifest” from Amaranthe. That one and “What The Dead Men Say” from Trivium have been getting tons of play time with me this year.

    Killer Be Killed gets my top honors for the year. Exactly what I've needed, nothing too technical or over the top. A couple of friends making excellent tunes.

    Loathe "I Let it in.." gets an honorable mention. A great quarantine record for sure!

    Black Crown's Violent Portraits was for me not only the best album of the year, but one of the best albums I've had the privilege of listening to.

    After that, Protest the Hero, Intronaut, Dua Lipa, and BTS's Map of the Soul 7. goddamn sexy motherfucking Kpop GODS.
    Also Colores by JBalvin got enough listens this year to be mentioned.

    Killer Be Killed was solid, not sure I like it as much as their first one, but still a good listen.

    Ended up liking the Loathe album enough that I picked up their other stuff. Now I want a 30” scale 6 string. Why in the hell are Squire Jazzmaster Baritones selling upwards of $1000 and Fender MIM Pawn Shop Bass VI going for $1500? No... Oh Hell no! Got to find an alternative 30” 6 string.

    Ha ha, same! Now I regret not picking up an Agile argus 30" 6 string years ago. They were like $350 or less. Same with the squire Jazzmasters. Not sure I want to dig into a bass VI instead or not.

    Saw this coming a mile away for me, but my favourite album of the year is definitely the new Solstafir. Honourable mention to the Greg Puciato solo album, a rollercoaster of punk and 80s synth goodness.

    tricot somehow managed to release 2 great albums this year. Not sure how appreciated it would be on here, but if you’ve got the slightest inclination to hear some highly technical and catchy Japanese math-rock then they’re highly recommended.

    Audn dropped the black metal album of the year for me and Havukruunu’s release was pretty special, too.

    Just remembered that acoustic/folk Myrkur album has some nice jams, too.
