    Damn, 2019 is proving to be an amazing year for black metal so far! This is some of the heaviest black metal I've heard. I believe they use 8-strings. \m/

    Also, for anyone who has followed this band's drama, apparently, one of the members started touring without the founder/writer, and even released an album. This album is by Krzysztof, the guy who started the project and has always been the mastermind.

    So is he releasing it under the Batushka name? There’s now two Batushkas?

    I believe that is correct, one on Metal Blade and one not. It's honestly pretty confusing and it doesn't help that every title is in Cyrillic and have similar themes.

    The one signed to Metal Blade is the "fake" one. They put out a video a few weeks ago and had to disable the ratings/comments on Youtube. :lol:

    Will have to take a full listen when i get some time. Sounds like a little more progressive/avant garde approach to their first albums sound. I guess one could say more "mature" in sound. Enjoying it alot thusfar.

    Allright digging this one a lot. More sinister, progressive, epic, and just better written overall than the debut and I liked the debut alot.

    Sounds sick, though I haven't had the chance to listen all the way through. I loved the debut, haven't given the "fake Batushka" a listen either. This definitely sounds like the same songwriting though.

    Cool - I love the first album, and was pretty sad when I found out about the drama.

    I just want the bands I like to be friends and do many musics ;_;

    There's only one song on Spotify so far, but I like it! Looking forward to hearing the whole album.

    Americans confused by two different Russian bands claiming to be the real "daddy"

    ...it's a brave new world. Lol.

    Poles don't use Cyrillic though, and never did

    They're still Poles. The "theme" of the band is Russian Orthodoxy, hence the Cyrillic.
