Has anyone tried the 8 string version of the bkp painkillers, and what are your thoughts about them.

Painkillers are all about attack and upper mids, they're pretty hot. Great fr making warmer amps a little tighter and more saturated, if you have something tight and dry anyway like a VHT/Fryette or Mark series Mesa or something they aren't necessary in that sense but its all taste at the end of the day.

Usually I'd rather have too much power than not enough because its easier to cut than boost, but that aside these are an upper mid heavy, pretty bright pickup on the whole. What you get out of it really depends on your entire setup.

Check out the search function for more info and welcome.
