I will have a close eye on this thread and the bal website...
it's looking like he will have to go to a 1 truss rod design if he starts offering floyds on 8s, as there will be no way to mount the nut to the neck as the rods are where the wood screws would need to be. just thought of this whilst messing with the builder heh
I think the Agiles use two rods and somehow screw on a locking nut.
Maybe, but agile uses their own "cepheus" nut (which is crap in my experience) and is a different size. If the rods are spaced just right i guess he might be able to, but it wouldn't be ideal
Yep, we're working on adding those very soon. Both The Anomaly & Vega models will be available in 6, 7, and 8 string variants + multi-scale.
Anybody gotten to play one? I wonder what the neck profiles are like
Or what the neck joints look like?
C and D apparently.
Thickness in mm would help a lot to get an idea
8 String Floyds have been added to the builder!
hmmm im messing with it right now and the floyd isn't available for me on the 8 strings...
It's showing up for me.
it appears to be a problem on my end... floyd wont show up in chrome, so i opened the page in microsoft edge and i can select it now. weird, must be a caching issue because i was messing with the configurator before he added it
. The only 8-string out in the wild right now is with Devin from The Acacia Strain (the one we had at Winter NAMM in January). If you find him on instagram or Facebook I'm sure he can give you his opinion and what he thinks it compares to?
Here ya go:
57mm nut width
Thickness at the 1st fret is .860" and .900 at the 12th fret. Hope that helps!
Wow thanks for answering. If I wanted slightly different neck dementions is that an option? I basically built my dream guitar for a lot less than what a lot of companies are offering for semi customs. I've played the etid guitar and liked that one so I know the quality of builds isnt questions
That’s because Floyd’s never look good in chrome. Always go black or gold.
Actually, I'd rather it be an edge.
