what else is new, they are gonna get free money from us and then charge us for shit they made with our money:scratch:
i understand it will fuck our country if we dont, but this option isnt really any better. the should quit doing bail outs and start making loans, such as, if the automakers keep trucking since they got the cash, then they have to pay it back over time

Oh, they would. All these bail outs are effectively loans. They just need liquid funds for operations.

But these loans are without many requirements or oversight. Plus, these idiot CEOs are a huge part of why we're in this situation.

There is not near enough oversight currently with the bail out bills. However too much oversight and you begin to have some socialism esque qualities. A majority of the bailout oversights of course is going to have this type of shit in mind. But there needs to be oversight over the oversight almost. At the same time it's very hard to believe that American goverment can pull anything like the subsequent goverments following Bolshevik Revolution and the Nazi party gaining control over germany.

All in all after the AIG junket affair I can't believe there has been little done too introduce more oversight. One of the biggest rules of the economic bailout is these little ceos can't get thier 20 million plus saleries. All in all more economic issues are going to rear thier ugly heads. It's not going to be anytime soon that things turn around. Perhaps Obama will get far more done. Certainly on the international level he'll have far greater abilities. Either way unless things turn around quick I doubt he'll get reelected. As he can't campaign the shameful way bush did against Kerry.

:wallbash:

I don't want to start an arguement about socialism, but god damn we need regulations to prevent these ass holes from doing this kind of shit.

I love how they're attempting to wave this aside by saying it's part of their security policy!

There's only one way they COULD defend themselves here.

Theoretically, it MAY be possible that it's actually cheaper for them to make a one-time investment in a private jet, and have high-ranking officials take that whenever possible rather than paying for business class travel. If you fly enough, then it's possible that you do exceed the break-even point.

That said, I'm guessing that because they all sort of sat there awkwardly rather than taking an opportunity to defuse a criticism while actually looking pretty on-point in the process, this isn't the case... :/

Sadly, their defence comes in the forms of worrying about security for the CEO's and scheduling a commercial flight was out of the question.

I've read a lot of people defending it saying it's only 20K. I'd like to let those people know that 20K could turn entire lives around, pull families out of debt....these fucking idiots don't deserve any help whatseover if they think the taxpayer wasn't going to flip out when they showed up in private jets (totalling 60 K - more than what a lot of people make in a year).

The auto sector up here is also trying to get government funding because if they go, tons of people lose jobs. They won't declare bankruptcy because it'll really screw with union agreements.

Hell, $2K would pull my family out of debt. :realmad:

If it's such a security issue, why couldn't those three taken a car there? I mean, they are CEO's for a CAR company...

These people won't change. They've been living a rich lifestyle for how many years now. If all the ceos of the world instead of buying expensive cars, private jets, huge houses, and lived like a normal person and donated the rest of thier money issues like sever poverty and hunger would not be an issue. It's only 20k. Howbout thier salaries. Is that only however many millions more than the average american?

That would be socialism. If you do that, then the terrorists and communists and all the other -ists have won.

Something interesting that I read is that the amount they are proposing for the Big three bailout could potentially put over $2000.00 in every Americans pocket (tax paying American that is)….What would you do with that extra cash? Surely that would help so many people out of debt it would be worth it right….it would kick start the economy for sure….

I hope they dont bail them out.....that = begining of the end.
