Peavey 5150 Amp Head and Cabinets EVH | eBay
This ^ 'nuff said
wait really? i got my 5150 half stack for 350 total, how is the head and 2 cabs 1100? lol
You got a very, very unusual deal. I see the heads by themselves on CL and eBay for 500-700 every day of the week.
NO JOKE DUDE!!!!!!
@SevenStringSam, does this guy you bought yours from have any more gear for sale???
There's a head/cab stack on my local CL for 650 and another full stack for like 900
I'd jump on it if I had the extra cash or the need/space for either of them
I'd avoid this only because I've heard nasty things about the matching cabs. Best bet is to get the head and a more renown cab (mesa, orange, etc.)
thats a great deal, 350 for that stack? your more likely to get struck by lightning than find a deal like that ever again.
I have heard more nasty things about 5150 cabs but rather than believe hype on the internet - 5150 cabinets are every bit as good as others. 9 ply baltic birch and birch baffles. The speakers are what everyone seems to complain about. I ran two 5150 cabinets and an original 1983 marshall cabinet loaded with G12-65 originals. The 5150 cabinets sounded way better than the marshall any day of the week.
I agree with glpg80 on that, the cabs themselves are just as wicked as any other high end cab, a speaker swap is all they need, and lets face it, even a majority of us that get high end cabs end up swapping the speakers out anyways. hell, for that price, you could make the money back and a little more to get some better speakers to drop in there!
The only thing I don't like about em are the speakers, not a fan of the sheffs.
350 is insane. I got my block letter head for about 500 & still consider that to be a great deal!
I regularly see decent deals on 5150s around here but amps are hard to store/move and when you can only bust them out for a few hours a week it's just not worth it to have a few around you're not even playing.
