I need to show this thread to my wife as a proof that I don’t own too many amps. Some of you guys have amazing collections.

I’m mostly a Mesa guy (buy the local product they say)
- Mesa Mark IIC+
- Mesa Triple Recto Rev G (blackface with chrome chassis)
- Mesa Triaxis + 2:90
- Marshall JMP 2203

haha laptop go brrrrrrr

for real though, I think the best amp I've ever owned had to have been a 6505. Didn't have to boost it, loud as fuck, shit ton of gain, really tight and nasty, no annoying grind to it. Really liked the Triple rec I had but it had some issues and without a boost it was pretty useless. Mini rectoverb was good too but same problem about the boost. They were also too flubby and thick with too little gain and I've found that I'm more a Mark guy anyways. I'd like a recto but I'd rather have an orange or Herbert for the scooped fizzy dark stuff.

My dream amp will always be a VH4 though, the current plugin I'm using for it apparently sounds 95% of the real thing and honestly that would be my desert island amp. Perfect sound across all 4 channels.

Heh. My mistake. WAY more amps here than I thought there’d be and @narad isn’t even awake yet lol

I've got a stack of tube amps, but I'm mostly running a Helix.

Gig rig includes a 1500W stereo power amp into one fEARless F112 and one F115.
Bass and keyboard rig subs in a Carvin BX1500 (another 1500W stereo power amp with a preamp)

Both run through my Marshall cab

Not nearly as awesome a collection as some of you guys have but these get the job done for me! Also have the little Blackstar ID20 and Fly 3 for wandering around the house and playing.

Currently just an EVH 5150 III 50 watt head as my main amp and a Joyo Zombie as my practice amp.

I've owned a 5150 block letter, 6505+ 112, Mesa DC-5, Mesa Studio Preamp > 2:100 power amp, and a Mesa Mark III red stripe. My only regret was selling the Mark III.

Mesa Mark IVa
Mesa Mark 5:25
Marshall DSL40cr
Ampeg SVT-IIP + Crown power amp

Been running those Marks forever and I still like them. Got the DSL a while back just for variety's sake, and I find it's become a go-to lately for random stuck-at-home noodling. Used to own a Traynor YCS50h, which sounded good generally but didn't cut very well so I sold it after getting the Mark IV. Also had gone through a bunch of stuff before settling on the Ampeg bass preamp - started with a Peavey Tour, which was ok but I found it lacked character and got buried easily. Moved to a Sansamp, which was closer but kinda clanky. Sansamp got replaced with the Ampeg, which sort of felt like going from a clone to the real thing.

Oh, I forgot the dusty Crate G130CXL sitting in my basement. Picked it up for $80 under the impression it was mostly the same as a GX130C. It is not. Sounds way more dry and harsh than my XLP, but it's awesome for hilariously goodbad uber-scooped C grade 90s NYDM "tones"

Uh, I think you're just looking in the wrong areas, doom is thriving right now

C'mon down to Tampa then. We got Pit Vipers and death metal with a huge emphasis on shred but the scene here is very against doom with few exception. Its kinda sick tbh but I still wanna doom

How do you like the CR120h?

It was my main gigging amp for a bit. My Stealth has replaced it so the CR might get sold. We'll see.

Its really versatile and takes pedals well. My favorite was using a Brutalist Jr into the gain channel for a Trap Them/The Banner type of hardcore sound. Its like a harder edged Rockerverb MkII if that makes sense
