Got a Mesa 1x12 (https://www.mesaboogie.com/en-US/Amp/0.112R.AB.F/0-112R-AB-F) and looking for a head to pair with it. Will only be playing at home, looking for something inspiring but simple (ie. if I don’t have to plug in an OD or noise gate, all the better). Will be playing with my Solar (https://www.solar-guitars.com/product/sb1-6hfbr-flame-blood-red-matte/), not looking to spend more than 1000 usd. I don’t prefer the sound/feel of el84 amps usually but I won’t rule them out entirely. I generally prefer more saturated gain styling (think Mesa and Peavey) over tighter/dryer gain styling (like a Revv or stuff like that) but again, won’t rule out anything.

Maybe the Invective MH or 6505MH? I use the Invective MH and it’s got a preset boost and gate, and I love it. The 5150 Iconic is awesome as well. Both are below $1000 and both have a gate and boost built in.

Maybe the Invective MH
I've had two friends sell them and both miss them. I don't remember playing through it myself but I do remember hearing it and it sounded really good.

Built in boost and gate are helpful in this case I think. Although it's still an input gate so you might get some hiss on channel 2 with high gain?

Randall RD45H. I ran mine with a Mesa 1x12. Sounded sick AF. Also had an EVH 5150 III 6L6. That sounded great too.

PRS Archon, or the MT-15 which costs a bit less and is also more compact.

PRS MT15 if you don't plan on using FX (the loop sucks).

And some rigging to stop it all toppling over.
Now I really wanna see a pic of an EVH 100w sitting on top of a 1x12.

Someone here do that. Please. Do it for the children.

Peavey Invective MH. 20/5/1W. Lots of gain. Built-in switchable boost and gate. FX loop. Nice clean channel that takes pedals well. XLR emulated DI that's actually quite good. Built-in dummy load/speaker defeat for silent recording/headphones.
It's EL84s but all the small Peaveys are. I had a Marshall DSL20CR first (EL34) and couldn't stand it, even after upgrading the speaker and tubes. Sold it to get the Invective. Very glad I did.
