I'll let the video speak for the game.
And it's upcoming sequel, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
I played the game for like a half hour until I got lost and wasted a bunch of time going in circles and couldnt find any more tinderboxes and rage quit haha I wish there was at least a map of where you've been so far so you know not to go back there.
Love that game. Its genuinely scary, AMAZING atmosphere.
Tried it, gave up like a sissy
Draw one yourself! Talk about boosting atmosphere... I might just do that next time.
Just picked this up through the Steam summer sale. So far, I've wandered around for a half hour, lighting candles and having my FOV pulsate. Have yet to see anything scary so I got kinda bored.
Played this game a few months back
Very scary, lots of anxiety, very fun. Took some time to complete!
For those who have played and enjoyed it, I would recommend a game called "Slender"
It has a similar feel of anticipation and fear
the first hour or so is a lot of world building, but after that it picks up pretty good.
this definitely isn't one of those games that scares you with constant adrenaline, it is much slower. awesome game though.
Oh it was certainly laying the groundwork for some pretty crazy shit to happen, but once I got stuck in a corner with no doors or anything, I figured I would come back to it.
Just picked this up and I'm a couple of hours into it- I only played it in pitch-black darkness with headphones on.
Holy fuck it's intense
These kinds of atmospheric horror games get to me too much . This was all I needed to see to know I wouldn't have a good time with the game:
Hejibits - Descension
Holy fuck. Just got to the part where
you get to the prison area. I started walking up the stairs and the mutant fuck just ran at me.
Nearly shat myself. Still catching my breath.
Holy fuck, I remeber that part. And you had nowhere to go so I looked for a dark shadow spot, but somehow in this particular moment nothing looked like a good place to hide. So I had to hide
in the room full of corpses
. Felt like a movie situation, only 100 times more intense.
Great game indeed!
I bought it the day it came out! Swedish quality
Im really looking forward to the sequel.
Such a quality game
I'm still attempting to gingerly work my way through this, but my interest in A Machine for Pigs is already maxed out. Putting out essentially the same game without the dated visuals and effects would work wonders for the atmosphere they've already created.
Finished it recently.
I used a walk-through all the way though, cause I wasn't feeling like spending too much time on this game.
Story line was meh
I mean wtf he had to chase down a girl to understand he became himself a murderer
,but forgivable cause you could emerge in it due to the atmosphere, the storytelling and the good voice acting (at least the voice actor of daniel ).
As said before the AI sucked big ass and kind of ruined the atmosphere in some occasions. Also I believe there should be more random monster occurrences, and a little more fluidness in the usable mechanics (which is definitely hard, cause you have no means of defending yourself).
there are actually 3 of them.I've had the bad ending and the agrippa ending
was kind of a turnoff for me.
I want to buy it, but I can't see myself spending $15 for a point-and-click.
