Because they have no idea. Simple as that
Big cabs just sound better with more volume. Bedroom volumes just wont cut it, push it just over the "turn that ....ing thing down" threshold and it will sound like you have a whole new amp. Also this cab is fairly directional, get it off the floor or sit in a position where its facing you. Well at least that is my experience with the PPC212.
2x12 is not a big cab. In fact, its the smallest usable option for higain.
Mate, half the fun (if not more) of playing guitar is the gear. No fun in playing a POS guitar with a budget amp, you will get over it VERY quickly.
Funny story: every time I sell one of my guitars I am nervous about playing in front of the buyer, because generally the guitar I am selling is reasonably expensive and doesn't really match my skill level (which is pretty average). But hey, I love me some fancy guitar equipment, and I am sure most of the people on here feel the same way.
Its hardly a 1x8....
That's why I always hand the guitar to them
Thanks for all the tips. I am way happier with the tone now, I believe the cab has sort of broken in since the blanket effect has disappeared. I also made my string-pickup distance slightly longer, dont know did it affect anything but my bridge pickup was still rather close to strings. But I am still going to get an overdrive. Would you guys recommend Maxon OD808X over normal 808?
Have you got any mates local that are guitar wiz's that could pop round and have a look for you and give you more insight on whether or not there is a problem?
