So my main axe is a Jackson custom shop masterbuilt soloist (the sparkly diamond one that was all over the internet a few years back). It has DiMarzios in it: a Super Distortion in the bridge and a Tone Zone in the neck.

Still and yet, my favorite tones ever tend to come from my Ibanez Artstar Vintage, which was way, way cheaper, and has Ibanez Super 57s (or 58s, idk). There is a sinister voice telling me to put a pair of Super 57s into my JCS soloist. Is this a stupid idea? I know the soloist is not a semi-hollow, so it won't sound the same, but perhaps the lower output will make it sound a bit sweeter...

What's the worst that can happen? You dont like and you have to switch back. And those pickups aren't expensive so not a big investment to determine whether you like it or not.

I have a bunch of guitars and pickups of varying heat and probably get my best tone from a Duncan Antiquity HB. Great cleans and midgain tones and sounds amazing boosted into a high gain amp for metal. Try it!

Put these PCB BLOCK CONNECTORS as an interface between the pickups and your guitars' circuits. Swap pickups at your will in minutes, no soldering needed afterwords.

... so, as everyone else said, go forward with the swap.
