I've been an Aesop Rock fan for years. Labor days is still in my top ten favorite albums of all time.

Life's not a bitch, life is a beautiful woman
You only call her a bitch because she won't let you get that pussy
Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests
Or maybe you're just an asshole who couldn't sweet talk the princess

Probably some of my favorite lyrics ever. Dude rules

Better than most of the hip hop I've heard, but I still can't get over the fact that most of these artists have a vocal delivery style that just sounds....well, arrogant. Hard for me to get past the fact that he possess it too.

Regardless, thanks for showing me something I don't absolutely hate in a different genre.

Aesop is a genius of a wordsmith. Float, Labor Days, None Shall Pass and Skelethon are all brilliant albums. His production is great as well.

I only discoverd Aesop Rock last year with the release of Skelethon, though I have been a huge fan of 90's rap among them being GZA. But this guy is something else. His music is like poetry rap or something and really awesome at that.

His collab album with Rob Sonic is awesome as well, a bit more light to digest, but good none the less. If anything I would say Skelethon was the number one labum of 2012 for me, or at least at par with Spawn of Possession's last effort.

I know exactly what your talking about, but confidence can be mistaken for arrogance just depends on how you perceive it.

Also with this guy I do not hear it very much.

I've lately been listening to Aesop's side project with Kimya Dawson called The Uncluded. The mix of folk and hip hop is interesting.

I always like when these threads pop up. Aesop Rock is great. I have yet to check out a lot of his stuff, but None Shall Pass and Preservation are great songs.

I've been listning to Skelethon on a daily week since it came out, and I still love it to death. Cycles To Gehenna and Tetra are my fav songs.

Edit: You might want to check out Hail Mary Mallon

^the last verse in Cycles over that piano loop is some shit.

I've been an Aesop fan since Float (hipster guy with glasses meme)

Even though Labor Days and Bazooka Tooth are amazing records, I think they didn't age that well. That whole fit as many words into a bar with constant punch ins style just didn't really age that well. None Shall Pass is probably my favorite album of his overall and I love that he is one of the very rare rappers (maybe only rapper ever?) to actually get better over time.
