Difficult to pick one album and one album and one song from bands you like but what comes to mind is:

Nevermore The Politics of Ecstasy album and song The Learning.
This album has great songs and it's difficult to pick just one. Nevermore also has a lot of great albums and songs but The Learning jus has the right amount of technicality, groove, structure melody and solos that take it just above the rest for me.

One of those albums with no weak songs at all. I like the vocal melodies more than on their other stuff (although they make great stuff still ofc), and I like Mishas wacky writing style. I mean Totla Mad for example. Who could come up with that stuff? It's even hard to put a finger on what kind of mood that song has.

I was about to put this as well! P1 is a crazy compilation of Mishas work, but it's strong , front to back. P2 has a couple tracks towards the end that feel like they drag the album out (erised, froggin bullfish). P3 is slowly growing on me, and although it feels like their most "complete" effort, it doesnt evoke that feeling p1 did almost 10 years ago

Sometimes I feel like it sounds like a Metal band trying to drown out of a renaissance fair and some of the transitions are genuinely jarring but despite improving their songwriting on later albums they never topped the atmosphere it creates.

I'm surrounded by the various genres of death metal 24/7. This album/band is my happy place.

I counter with "Violator". Specifically the song policy of truth is my favorite from them. but honestly they don't have any "bad" albums, that I know of.

Counter-Counter argument and VERY unpopular opinion, Silence in the Snow. It just sounds like a Tim Burton era Batman soundtrack in my head and every song is solid, the guitar and bass tones are incredible and Matts voice is the best its ever sounded. All IMO of course

Guess I should add one haha. Ill go with Bury Your Dead - Its Nothing Personal. Although I prefer Matt on vocals, Myke Terry is an AMAZING singer IMO. This album just felt very cohesive and branched out slightly, whereas the first two records were just straight HXC MOSH records, and S/T was kind of messy. Each song is solid and there are some great guest performances too.
