I don't think its possible for me to pick a flat out top 5 albums ever, but these have received countless rotations from me over the years:

    Opeth - "Ghost Reveries"

I'm burned out on most of my library. This thread made me realize I need to find some new stuff!

Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny and their disc before that has held strong for me
    Floyd:The Wall
God Street Wine: Good to the last drop
    Beatles: White
    Los Lonely Boys: Sacred

I love me some aggressive rock/metal but now looking at my list & I'm seeing that angry hi gain stuff just burns me out and turns over faster...interesting

Iron Maiden- Somewhere in Time- my alltime favourite band and my fave album by them
Kalter - Ubuntu - a really underlooked classic from a Canadian band, but this is a true melodic/proggy DM classic
Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here - a great band I love every album by, but this contains some glorious tunes
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse - the ultimate BM album
It Bites - The Tall Ships - my go to 'happy' album - UK prog pop-rock and utterly brilliant
