I’ve wanted that teal/turquoise sparkle forever. And I hate that I can’t even ask to order it. The gold hardware looks awesome and you know it would be released as a normal model with silver.

His originally came with silver hardware and looked, while still nice, nowhere near as good as with the full gold. And trust me, I feel the same, if we mere mortals could order from their custom shop I'd already have a clone of his sitting in my lap right now.

It feels as if they've dropped the ball a little when it comes to BFR JP releases as well. Over these past two year the only decent JP imo was Dec 18's purple JP15, while almost every other release had a killer non-JP (ie: Jun 19's Albert, Apr 19's St. Vincent, Feb 19's Valentine, etc...). They used to release some fantastic BFR JPs, but it feels as if after the Japan-only burl and Mystic Dream run they stopped putting as much attention on the JPs.

I would love to hunt down one of those burl JPs but I won't hold my breath.

I bet the twentieth will cost at least as much as those Purple Nebula ones this year. Which means I will be sitting that run out as well.

This thread got so much better with all those jp15s.

Yes! Speave from Chelsea has the best jps! The root beer guitar is to die for. I need that as a sig.

They really need to just release a sparkle jp15 gold hardware and call it a day!

That Eminence purple bfr they released not too long ago was pretty cool. But that white binding around the board which awkwardly stops around the headstock ruined it for me

Those JPs look sweet. EBMM does some really killer finishes.

I agree that the standard model colors that were introduced this year are less exciting than the colors that were introduced last year. Possible exception is the multi-colored nebula burst :yum:, which beats out the tiger eye from previous years for sure:

Also, if the standard colors don't grab you, they do put out a lot of limited runs - like the JP15 I picked up a month ago which happened to tick my dueling spalted maple and purple guitar predilections:

Bottom line, the guitars are pretty great and even if it's not the best year for new colors, one can usually find a real winner in the special runs.

Yeah for 6s/majestys maybe. But I'm specifically calling out the jp15 7s.

    Pretty cool finishes though.

Played the majesty 7 and directly compared it to the jp15 7. And..... I hate to say it but the majesty plays even better hahaha. Im crushed lol. I mean that thing is effortless to play and even feels closer to a six in my hands. The upper fret access is insane to.but mirror inlays kill me.

trust me, it plays so well you’ll forget about the inlays. I understand the dislike for the aesthetics but nothing plays as well imho

Last year ones are much better designed, for sure.

Yeah it's a much smaller footprint and generally lighter, so it'll feel far easier to maneuver and handle. I owned a JP15-7 after having mostly majesties last year and it felt like a hassle to play in comparison

The JP15 will probably fizzle out with the 20th anniversary release unless it's another Majesty.

I personally hope they go for a killer theme and make it a uniform release between the JP & the Majesty. Like same color schemes, but they rehash the JP design a tad while releasing the color schemes on the Majesty.

Would actually be interesting if they took the old Arm Scoop JP and redesigned it (Ala JP16). That'd be more fitting of an anniversary style release.

Truth. Every time I pull my guitar out of the case I wish for them to be pearloid at the least, non-existant at best.

honestly the ultimate 7 string guitar for me would be if they made a more traditional jp15 like body shaped guitar with the playability of the majesty.

look at the pics of all of those on sweetwater, they can't get the grains straight across the body.

the walnut one had some particularly bad examples leave the factory

They must be doing that on purpose, I can't imagine they'd let that go otherwise. In any case they are still hideous
