I was really waiting all year for ernie all to release some killer finishes or gold hardware jp (15 or new model ) but all they drop is a weak blue Finish for the jp15....

Just been holding that in for a while and had to vent somewhere. I really been in the market for one and was hoping for some cool colors so I wouldn't have to buy one and refinish it. But that seems to be the only option.

Anyone else really disappointed in the jp line? Maybe something in the vault will pop up but that's a gamble.

They usually do some cool colors in the summer on existing models no? I’d hold off until then at least. So maybe just buff and polish the pitchforks, but keep them in the case for now.

I was told by Pete DuBaldo that his 20th anniversary guitar will be next year. He began his sponsorship in 2000 but his first signature guitar came out in 2001. I’d hope for something special next year

Of course they went small this year.
Next year is the 20th anniversary of the JP model, so they'll be knee deep in planning and developing something big for that.

Also, they hardly ever release JP models with gold hardware.

I'm pissed because the Luke IIIs they released are literally the exact look I want from the JP line

That Ocean Sparkle Luke III reminds me so much of Chris Kim's JP12 which is imo the best looking guitar Music Man ever put out

Just refinish anyway. You would have a completely unique guitar that you could enjoy until we see next years offerings

Close but burgundy, purple, or sparkle finishes can make your music heavier. :mf666:

Didn't know that the anniversary date is coming up. But nice, hopefully they add something big.

And even tho gold hardware is not really realistic I still would love it!

I believe if you custom order one from Ernie Ball you can specify the finish?

Music Man only does custom one-offs for artists.

    It's a beauty, ain't it?

Chris Kim (ex-Slaves, he played in some other band too) alongside the guys from Chelsea Grin somehow managed to make the best looking custom JPs possible, here are some of the Chelsea Grin ones.

The pink one owned by Speave is particularly nice, but it's hard to find any good shots of it. He also recently got a nice root bear one with gold hardware which seems to have taken over as his primary. It's surprising that Jason never had any cool ones made, even to this day with his solo work he's never commissioned any wacky or out-there designs for his JPs prior to getting a signature model. I mean I guess the burl JP he had (which was released as a Japan-only run) was pretty nice but I tend to be a bigger fan of the sparkles that MM puts out.

That's what I'm saying, it's definitely up there with Chris's ocean sparkle as my two favorite EBMMs of all time.
