Man, I know I talked to you about a body before. I am dying for a 7 string BSB JEM. Once I get another RG7 I am going to order a body from you.

These pictures honestly don't do the body justice at all, it's an incredible body and the finish just looks way better in person than these can hint at.

I'll post some completed shots when I get everything together ... just waiting on electronics at the moment. :yesway:

    Thanks again Courtney!! :bowdown::bowdown:

No, I wish. What you see there is just some things I did in Lightwave to get the rendering to come out chrome.

Thanks Wreck! I'm humbled by your comment. :yesway:

I look forward to it. ;)

I can't wait to see the finished axe! It's going up on the site, so SEND ME PICS!!!!! :hbang: :D

For sure.. it's getting temporary pickups for the time being so I can finish the setup (new7's), then I've ordered a Duncan Full Shred 7 set for this, but those aren't being sent out until the end of the month unfortunately.

Hello folks! Here's something I managed to finish up this early afternoon before the floods came. It's an insert for a humbucker in a 7 string body. It was originally routed out for Phase II Blackouts for TheWreck's 7 string, single humbucker in the bridge, african mahogany body. Unfortunately I didn't catch a change in the design so we came up with an insert approach to fix the issue.

This insert comfortably fits inside the Phase II rout and nicely frames a regular 7 string humbucker. This insert is made of cocobolo. I put some bevels on it and I think it does the job quite nicely.

    What are your thoughts?

As an after-market thing it would be pretty cool to have available, however if it's a customer's guitar and you made a mistake you should be making him a new body that properly fits the pup he wants to use instead of coming up with workarounds :2c:

Looks like a nice pup ring though.

    Hey Courtney,

Thanks for sharing your works in progress. Some time back, several of us were interested in Ibanez S-series 7 string custom bodies, but the plan fizzled with one particular luthier on SS.org, if I recall correctly. Any chance that you would be able to do it?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Sure Jeff. Doing a S-series is something I want to do, but nobody has asked for one yet and as such I haven't done one. I even have a body blank ready to go for a S-series. It's half purpleheart and half african mahogany, both having figured qualities.

I have to do a computer model and then prototype it. Same goes for the arch tops. I've got a model for them, but haven't made one yet. I've just got too many orders to do right now to add another personal project. I've got a 7 string destroyer I haven't finished yet that I started months ago. lol

However if someone wanted a S I would start down the path of making one.

Fantastic! Thanks for the info. I'd likely want a custom airbrushed graphic, so having gorgeous wood hidden by paint would likely be a silly/stupid idea, but I can't wait to see pictures of that body blank, regardless. Then again, perhaps I could see doing 2 custom S models... but I'm getting way ahead of myself here. :)

I'll send you an email with for a quote and all that jazz soon. Thanks!

Moderators, do you mind if I point that older thread on people wanting a custom S-model over here? I know we tend to frown on resurrecting old posts, hence my asking permission.

    Regards,
    Jeff

What did you end up getting, Kingpin?

Also, what part of Houston are you in? I just noticed you were from here too. :)

    Later,

Maybe she's at JemFest (since it's in her neck of the woods).
