Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Ormsby HypeMachine from the 2015 run that was advertised here back in 2014 if I recall correctly. I recently took delivery of the guitar but my life circumstances have changed since I ordered (purchased a house, etc.) and paid it off, so it’s hard for me to justify keeping around something that’s so expensive, especially since my taste in guitars has shifted slightly. With that said, it’s up for grabs. Specs: Quilt Maple Top (Blue Burst Finish - Referenced PRS Indigo Glow Finish) Gloss Finish on Top and Headstock Face Swamp Ash Body (Grain Filled) Satin Finish on Body (Back and Sides) & Neck Maple Neck with Ebony Fillets Slight Trapezoidal Neck Profile (3 surfaces on a vague curve) Ebony Fingerboard with Hollow Metal Inlays (24 SS Frets @ 25.5") Blue Side Dot Luminlays with Metal Surrounds Ivoroid Binding on Body, Neck, and Headstock Schaller Hannes Bridge (Ruthenium Finish) Volume, 3-Way, Tone (Push Pull) Electronics Layout Orsmby Custom Wound Pickups Hipshot Open Gear Locking Tuners Bone Nut (IIRC) Some notes on condition: Little bits of dust here and there that look to (potentially) be under the clear coat. Not sure if it’s just the way it looks in my room, but I figure that it’s worth mentioning. You certainly can’t see them without hunting though, so not a really blemish per se. Nothing else to speak of other than the general hallmarks that come with something being handmade rather than machine made. Haven’t had it long enough to let anything else happen to it. Some notes on sound: The pickups are his own blend, can’t recall what models we started with, but they aren’t crazy hot. The bridge is really clear and balanced and the neck is warm and ‘chimey.’ I realize that’s pretty generic, but everyone’s ear is different, so it’s hard to be completely objective. If I had to throw out a really baseless comparison, I’d say the bridge is reminiscent of an AlNiCo Nailbomb and the neck a VHII from the BKP range. For what it’s worth, the split coil sounds you can get out of these pickups are the best I’ve ever heard. If Perry ever starts mass marketing his house-wound pickups, it might be worth it to grab a set just for that purpose….seriously, they’re that good. Other notes: You can check out Perry applying the stain to this guitar in one of the videos he posted on the Ormsby GTR FaceBook group. I just asked him add a little bit more blue to the edges over what’s shown in that video. Modifications (if any): None… Accessories (hardshell case etc): Comes with the Hardshell case provided by Ormsby and the hardware for adapting to straplocks. Location (City,State or City,Country): Renton, Washington, USA International OK?: Yes, but shipping is 100% on you and duties may be costly. I’m willing to mark as a gift if you think that will help, but the only way the guitar is leaving through the post is fully insured. Contact Info (No Phone #s): PM me here. References (eBay or other forum userid): My iTrader should suffice; if you need further references, we can talk. Price (include currency and if firm/obo): Looking for $4,999 shipped to the CONUS. International will be $4750 plus actual shipping. I’m open to reasonable offers, but as you well know, these aren’t cheap and the wait time isn’t anything to shake a stick at. Really not looking for trades at this time. There's a chance I might bite at something in the $1500 range (PRS, Ibanez, etc) plus cash on top to make up the difference, but I'll admit up front I'm likely to be very picky in that regard. Pictures: More available at request, just let me know what you want to see.
