I started to compose and record my own music about 3 months ago and I thought I should get some criticism. Both songs are still works in progress.

This is my most recent song, Ventricle Glass:
Ventricle Glass Part I, II, III (Second Mix... Still no bass, Garrett) by JL Johnson on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

Here's the 1st song I ever recorded, In Wake (a lighter, more melo tune):
In Wake - firstmixwithdistortion by JL Johnson on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

I used Pro Tools LE, Mbox 2 mini (interface), Ibanez RGD, Schecter C-1 Hellraiser, and an Ibanez 7321, Laney VH100r, and a Vader 212.

Thanks for listening! Any comments, suggestions, or death threats are appreciated ;)

imo it's pretty damn good. it's very damn good.

the first note of the solo is just... ahhhhh. :)

i would try to smooth out that first hammer-y or tapp-y riff so that it sound a little more organic and less obviously that technique.

    but that's nitpicking, isn't it?

    great job! love the harmonies.

    Thanks for listening guys!

I know what you mean about the intro tapping riff, I'll probably try increasing the high pass filter to try and smooth it out. If not, I'll just re-do it haha. It's pretty simple. I love the harmonies too!

Thanks for welcoming me to SS.org! I've crawled around the forums for a while now, but I've never posted.
