The planets have aligned and finally gave me some time to create new music, so here’s a new proggy instrumental:
If anyone cares, I used Kemper GGD profiles for rhythm and lead guitars.
Hey seven stringers!
I wanted to get a cool Meshuggah-esque tone with a tube amp. The goal wasn't to recreate an exact album tone since every single album has a different overall sound. I just wanted to create a simple Meshuggah-type tone with a guitar, an amp and a pedal.
I chose the Dual...
As the title says, curious what the baritone and extended scale ERG market is looking like today.
I know the SubZero Rogue has been making rounds due to it's use by Loathe and cost, but it seems QC issues are a little too common on them and availability is limited due to the manufacturer...
I am finally the owner of an M80M. I had some previous experience with an 8-string, a no-name brand from Korea with a 27" scale length and (unbelievable) horrible stock pickups. I still have it, it's back in my home country and perhaps it's worth getting it back with me to...
Pretty happy with how it came out. I used the Thordendal Modern amp on my AXE FX2 for the rhythm guitars with my basswood EBMM jp12 seven string, and used my USA Jackson B7 for the droning lead part. Can't...
What are your latest ultra-low tuned guitar tunes out there?
Just recorded a video showing an Ibanez M80M tuned down to Double Drop G with a .080 string and I'm pretty satisfied with how it sounds, specially given that the string is so thin for such a tuning.
What do you think? :)
Whats up guys  A little bit of quarantine riffs.
Blacker RTA 7 - Left channel
Kiesel Vader 8 - Right channel
Both 27" scale but tuned a little bit different. Kiesel is in standard while Blacker got double drop.
Sound ---> Axe Fx III + 6160 amp block + Ownhammer (r)evolution mesa cab ir...
The new SIGMA - gotta love amp sims named after the Greek alphabet! After all, ancient Greeks were well known for their chugging
The neural DSP OMEGA now has quite some competition. And it's free!At least, till the end of this day i think. It feels and sounds huge. Will do a comparison...
I also own an axe fx ii. The Granophyre is quite the competition here.
You can go crazy with the axe fx and make a sick tone but in terms of making a great tone easily, the Grano wins. It also has to do with the nice cabinet section.
By the way, i've started this youtube series "No talking -...
I've had this guitar for a couple years now and still, everytime I pick this thing up it feels and sounds sooo good! To this day I have not owned or played an 8-string guitar that is so solid. The one I have is a near perfect instrument aside from some small flaws from the factory. I used to...
I first became familiar with Nevborn guitars after seeing Meshuggah use them on Ozzfest back in the early 2000's. They have a very unique and often hated body shape that I just feel is incredibly pleasing and haven't grown to dislike over the years. Last year I was able to get in contact with...
I'm looking for someone to do vocals on an EP. It's got elements of bands like Meshuggah, Frontierer, Humanity's Last Breath, all of Josh Travis's stuff, but some melodic parts too. There are a lot of odd time signatures so it needs someone who's comfortable with that. It's essentially...
Specially interested in selling for cash. Open to trade offers for both guitars against your one. Preferences (and hopes...) on 8 srings multiscale , Strato Malmsteen, Kiesel Delos 7....
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Ibanez Prestige M80M
Modifications (if any):
Threw together this cover quickly using my Aristides 070S Raw w/ Lundgen Pickups M7.
Used Neural DSP Fortin NTS + Nameless Suite along with Submission Eurobass and Perfect Drums. I think it sounds pretty beefy :)
Almost all lessons on Meshuggah focus on their rhythms (for obvious reasons!) but I've rarely seen discussion of their note choice. I've created this lesson series that's designed to give you an idea of the way they write their riffs but it requires no previous theory knowledge -...

I got both of these plugins somewhat recently and threw them on some older recordings of mine. I'm pretty stoked with the result, the Fortin plugin sounds gnarly.
Here it is.
I've wanted to geek out about the rhythms I love but never had the venue, so I made my own venue, with blackjack, and Meshuggah. In fact, forget the blackjack.
It's my first foray into video editing so this is pretty much the pinnacle of my ability, and it's a little bit rough...
