The best middle ground would be a 565 with a middle pickup and pickguard.

The 565 ticks some big boxes, but the 550 is just a classic look I can never say no to. Plus H-S-H pickup config. Position 2 and 4 cleans and edge-of-breakup = absolute heaven.

Between the apparent bickering between Chino and Stef during the recording of Gore + the treatment of Sergio... yeah, there seems like there's some tensions in the band. The treatment of Sergio soured me on them hard, which sucks becauase I loved Ohms + everything else Sergio has been on.
