He added the 6550 since releasing them, it isn't what you think... it's a Marshall with Jose-style diode clipping and a pretty poor one from some of the comments I've seen from guys that owned them :2c:
Awesome to see you got this at long last :yesway:
Same here... it was painfully obvious where this was heading as soon as he started removing the limited quantities and promising people any options they wanted but nobody wanted to hear it.
Yeah while eliminating all of the things you mentioned would make it more durable, they are pretty much things all turret / hybrid based amps have in common and not typically an issue in a guitar amp. If it was an aircraft with much more vibration and motion related stresses different story.
Yeah last I saw Letang is going to "allow the Pens to match free agent offers" so no way he's going to be back. Somebody will do something stupid that will be great in the short term but a disaster long term
Damn that was a brutal hit... but if Binnington is done St. Louis likely is as...
In all seriousness none of those are anything I would actually worry about (nor have I seen anybody else concerned). What I'd consider the final word is Cantrell and Steve Stevens have been touring with these amps for years with zero issues.
Also wiring is stranded not solid core so...
Well Letang will not be back for the Pens. Last I read, "He will allow the Pens to match free agent offers." He's a great player but somebody is going to overpay him on a deal with too much term given his age and injury history :2c:
Yeah overall the fretwork is really good, just seems like the last fret is high. should be an easy job to fix... I've actually got it strung up and am playing it with no work, those last couple frets are just dead
