Meh. As If people used the fullest extent of their 6-strings either. I'm sure everyone rocks the fuck out of those last 5 frets on the low strings. :lol:
Even with the FX loop insert trick to act as an extra master volume, it was a total bitch to get to useable volume onstage. I got rid of it for those two reasons (weight and volume), but man did it sound good... and it was crazy versatile.
If Laney somewhat managed to pull a preamp version of their old VH100R / VC100 they'd have a super solid winner. Those things ruled extremely hard, but weighed like a Panzer tank.
Full signal modelling (captures) sounds and feels the best and eliminates most of those issues. You just need to find one you like. It took me like 10 minutes with ToneX
Those things are monstruously huge and weight a ton. A buddy has the older model and when he carries it on its case it's just freaking huge and heavy. This one seems to follow suit and I'd be out of interest just because of that.
The touchscreens and UI are really nice, though.
