    The .strandberg* Thread

I had a near-mint neck thru metal up for $1800 for about 4 months before I finally caved and sold it for $1400. As well a Boden RAS indo for about 2 months, sold her for $1k. Both fairly recent, the metal was just last week. I generally deal through FB to avoid fees and I'm telling you, the...

    Feeling kinda bad for Suhr...

I've noticed that a lot of people think that they're 'successful in the industry' for one reason or another. From time to time I'll work with people whose whole personality is basically bragging about their perceived success in the industry. Usually the reality is that they're upper-middle class...

    The Carvin / Kiesel thread

Just snagged that cute little lady on Facebook. I was thinking of putting a labor day order in but my Vader took 5-6 months to get to me and I wasn't feeling the antique ash this go around. I'm excited to try out those fishman singles! Walnut neck as well. 4th Kiesel now but my first used one.

Has anyone else noticed that the used market for these is getting a little less expensive? I'm honestly only gleaning from Facebook, but you can find standard Bodens for $1k on the regular now, as well as the more expensive ones like Progs and Metals for $12-1300 all the time.

My Kiesel HH2 build - Am I wrong to be a little bit disappointed?

This...doesn't really look that bad dude. It's a faded denim finish over a quilt top, which is notoriously dicey. It ultimately looks like just that, though, a faded denim finish over a quilt top. The original had a slightly brighter, more intense blue and perhaps a hair less fade I suppose...

    Feeling kinda bad for Suhr...

Has anyone ever told you that you're a bit melodramatic? Chill man, this is a forum where people argue about guitars. It's fun, we're all buddies here until you hop off the deep end like this.

    Feeling kinda bad for Suhr...

I had the same impression with my short time playing them. In Seattle there was this great store called the guitar store and they'd often have really niche, expensive instruments right on the walls so I'd often pick em up and just play a bit. I don't think that's enough exposure to really say...

    Feeling kinda bad for Suhr...

I really want to play a Suhr, but for a long period of time. I feel like they're one of those brands that's always put on a huge pedestal of quality by everyone that plays them, and everytime I seek a brand like that out I'm always left wondering what all the fuss is about. Mind you all I can...

I'd love to see some new pickup models with the builder as well. Off my head I can only thing of Lithiums, Bellyriums, Illusionist/Emeryeon, Holdsworth, Thorium, Polarity and I'm sure they have single varieties that I'm missing but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm not understanding the point of the pup...

The illusionist humbucker is great, I will say. It's been my favorite Kiesel pup to date.

It's interesting that so many people can have such similar taste in certain things can have have such different taste in others. I love Jason Becker but I feel like his guitar is the ugliest thing Kiesel does! I wonder how they sell. The Lyra is pretty cool though! I like seeing a different...

Experiences taking guitar lessons? Story time

That's awful, man, that's not at all how a lesson should go. I've been teaching online for a year or two now and I hear horror stories from students about other online teachers, it's such a bummer. You've gotta really get yourself a teachers teacher, rather than someone that is just amazing...

My Kiesel Compared to my Strandberg: an in-depth review

Eh, I understand what you're saying and I agree with a lot of it. Generally it's common knowledge that USA made guitars are going to be if nothing else more consistent than offshore models, but that's of course not always the case. As a well, it's usually common knowledge that if nothing else...

My Kiesel Compared to my Strandberg: an in-depth review

Because people have their guitars made in Indonesia to save money on labor costs. It's why a fender from the USA costs $1600 and one from Indonesia costs $700. That said, it's obviously impossible to actually track down exactly how much they make in the Strandberg wing of the Cort Factory but...

    The Carvin / Kiesel thread

I have to agree. I don't connect to brands generally speaking, but I've always had some sort of connection to Carvin/Kiesel. When I was in my first band about 10 years back, my other guitarist got a super nice, Claro Walnut Carvin and at the time, it was the nicest/most expensive guitar I'd ever...

    The Carvin / Kiesel thread

I'll bet when this man's wife asks how he feels about her, he says 3-7 words at most. Ask him to talk about his favorite guitar though? Can barely contain it to 6 paragraphs.

Every time I see burl now I immediately associate it with cheap wannabe burl tops, like those Eart guitars or GOC or something. My eyes have been poisoned.
