I have a schecter USA Sunset II 7. It is not a guitar I would spec out personally but it has become one of the guitars I will never let go of, it plays beautifully and the build quality is as good as any high end brand.
When I bought it I made sure to try every other high end guitar in store...
Schecter don't exactly hide this fact either -

You can find stuff like this even on Schecter's website, they don't tidy things up for pics really.
I've had relatively good luck with Schecter though so I don't mind, the real problem with that guitar is the absolute garbage retro-active EMG.
Going in to stores you can see a lot of guitars...
I have not directly tried the USA KM but I have compared mayones to my current USA schecter when I was about to buy it. They’re both built very well, but the USA felt easier and nicer to play for me. That that level, setup, string gauge, makes the difference because the quality is neck and neck...

There's a 2228A in white for cheap in Guitarguitar rn
I stand corrected then, I read Ken gave up on profits even before they were sold to US music corp. After USM bought them they expanded with import lines etc and still weren’t making money before they were sold again.
That was my understanding.
I have 2 unfinished Parkers from the factory, there is wood. The Composite "board" is as thin as a bit of card. Happy to share pics and stuff, probably in PM's as I don't wanna clog the thread up with another subject.
Rolex aren't reinventing anything. They're still watches, lots of premium...
I forgot how cool that shape was! I'd really like to see that make a return.
That's exactly why they would fail today though. Like the fretboard. There's still a fretboard under that glass carbon sheet, like an actual radiused bit of wood like every other guitar except they are then adding this...
Absolutely, to continue today the way guitar prices have gone and global supply shortages it's hard to think they could come back.
As far as Steinberger goes, it's good they're coming back but there are better more organised companies than Gibson to do it imo. Hope something cool comes out...
The problem with Parker was how convoluted things were which made them overly complex in places and this expensive.
I’m restoring 2 at the moment. The fixed bridge used special screws + inserts to fit. Every other bridge for most companies is basically just screw in. It's those things all...
Not gonna suggest any way but will warn it's gonna be hard to see how deep you are with it being a white finish. Typically white lacquers come off in a white dust you can tell when you hit wood cause well it's wood dust. But maple is also very white. So whatever you decide don't rush it...
I feel like they're transitioning to posting more of it on the main page instead of just the Custom Shop. I've notice Jackson posting more Custom Shop on their page too so I guess it's a little shift.
