Hello all,
I am currently in the market for a bass rig and see a beautifully priced Acoustic 220 lingering on GC. Now I've heard that everyone who owns this amp saying it pushes WAY more power than it is rated at, but I still wonder if it will be able to effectively drive both a 4x10 and a 1x15...
Cool, thanks for the knowledge. Will definitely NOT run my bass through my guitar rig. Looking forward to how my guitars sound through a 1x15 and a 4x10 tho hahaha
I see, that makes sense. What doesn't tho is that I hear of people running their guitars through bass rigs all the time, especially in D00M. Does the same principal not apply for Guitar -> bass amps/cabs? Maybe it's that bass cones are engineered to be tougher because of the lower frequencies...
Thanks for the info, didn't know 4x10s had that characteristic. I do have a really solid 2x12 with Emmimence Legends that I use for my guitar rig. The frequency response is only like 55hz to 5khz, I can't imagine that is suitable for bass. I know no cab will be pushing the fundamental 23hz of...
Upon further thought, a 2x15/8x10 is pretty fucking massive and heavy. I'm not a big dude and I plan on gigging and practicing with a bunch of different people all around my city once college starts. I get that those big ass amps are really what deliver, but what about a 1x15 paired with a 2x10...
I'm looking more at $500 for a head, I think trading my dual rec for $700 worth of gear through guitar center is fair. I don't really want it to sit on reverb/craigslist/ebay at $900 along with the 60 other dual recs on those sites. Would rather just trade and be done with it.
the SVT-3 pro...
After some quick research, I'm finding SVT's going for $400 for 450w and $500 for 1000w. I don't mind paying the extra $100 for that many more watts, but is that what I want? I am under the impression that having a lower watt head being driven super hard will sound dope but I have also heard...
Ok so I've been wanting a solid bass rig for a while now and I finally have the means to obtain one! Remember that Dual Recto my friends' house-flipping dad kindly gave to me? Well I have no use for it considering how kick ass my triple x is, and I feel as tho I can easily trade it for a bass...
Ikr still blown away this happened haha. Gotta get some solvent though, theres paint all over the front grill. Dunno how someone managed to get it all over this thing...
Hey guys,
So I literally just had this head show up at my door today... friends dad flips houses, snagged it along with this dope JBL PA system and was gonna sell it to a pawn shop. To his dismay and my rejoice, the shop was closed and they needed to get rid of the goods ASAP so the son sent a...
Turns out the Peavey XXX is pickup only (states away)... disappointment ravages my soul.
However, I do see a couple used 6560 2x12 combos going for $400 and $500, should probably go for one of those opposed to the Bugera, no?
