Just seen post lol. Dimebucker gets a bad tonal rep because it has scooped mids.
It was designed of course to compliment Dimebags mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and shorter/gibson scale length, so when people try it sharper/brighter guitars they say it's sterile. Also Dimebag's strings were tiny and loose compared to so many of todays metal players, which helps balance the super-tight lows of the dimebucker.
Yeah I have the OVA series on DVD and watched it a few weeks ago. Ha, it brought back so many memories of watching it on the Sci-Fi channel late at night.
Anyway, yeah the story sort of gets really interesting and then kinda falls flat where I had left off on with the comic.
There's this kickass one I'm currently reading called, " Eden it's an endless world" They released volume 13 earlier this year and 14 should be coming out sometime next year. Darkhorse comics are doing a great job with it. Defiantly worth a look.
If you don't have a problem with oldschool anime you should check out the 12 episode OVA of Guyver, it's pretty much the same though as the reboot you saw just it cuts off sooner. The comic as far as I know was cancelled for the west, translations I mean. The comic is still going in Japan. I can't remember how many volumes there are, probably close to a 100.
I stopped a few years ago because I had caught up with it, there should be more of it out already. I hate reading comics on a computer, let alone a fan translated one, but it's the only way to read this series pretty much.
