I've got a Blackmachine 8 and a BlackDroid T8. Both are gorgeous guitars. I'd say the BlackDroid is slightly more flexible - it goes from smooth Jazz through to crushing Metal. The Blackmachine is generally more mellow, but also gorgeous tones, however it lacks the attack needed for fast Metal...
I've got a Blackmachine 8 and a BlackDroïd HufCaster 8 - for Metal, I'd take the BlackDroïd *any* day ;)
(That's not to say the Blackmachine's not badass - but the IMHO the BlackDroïd is simply better for Metal \m/ \m/ ;)).
(Oh, and I've also got an Ibanez K-7 and RG1527, and they're both great...
LOL - yeah, the cover stuff could indeed be played on cheaper equipment. But then again, so could everything else. Plus, seeing as I *HAVE* the equipment, I'm going to damn well use it - regardless of whether I'm plying Metallica covers, my own originals or Jazz stuff ;)
Cheers,
C
Not at a gig yet ... but have done so in practises.
I'm loving this guitar more and more every day ... its the first guitar in a long time which makes me want to play it all the time, and when I haven't got it slung round me, I miss it LOL
So basically, I'm *REALLY* looking forward to playing...
:D yeah, some songs work really well like that :hbang:
E.g., I usually like to play Leper Messiah on the B string (but in Alcohollica we play it 'normal' ... well, almost, because we tune down a half step in standard).
... of course, due to that half step down, I'd actually be transposing...
