On the the bench today: ash body, pau ferro neck and fretboard. This one is getting a new prototype wind from Adam over at Elysian, I'm pretty pumped.
Tomorrow I'm going to get the front and rear contours carved, we'll see...
It's definitely the toughest wood I've found! Rock hard, resistant to cutting, splinters like a bastard. On the plus side... it looks amazing and after 2 days of carving your neck, my arms looked pretty great too haha
