Hey man I'm pretty sure it has to be modded.
    2. asmegin_slayer
Aww dude I totally understand. A couple months ago I had a case of lockjaw while working out, while I managed to fix it my whole mouth and teeth just doesn't feel the same. I thought I had to cancel the cruise in order to pay for the dental expenses (thought my wisdom teeth were going in) but fortunately I didn't have to I just needed to sleep properly and be less stressed.

Aww shit you sold your roadster?

There was almost zero latency (<5ms), so it didn't lag or feel stiff and fake, like slow Midi processing sometimes does.

The one thing that dig lag a little bit was switching. There was a noticeable drop out that lasted a fraction of a second after hitting the foot switch on the controller when switching patches. Doing stuff like switching effects on and off, and changing modes/channels on amps didn't have lag though, only full patch changes. It was like using one of the older Boss or Digitech multi-effects.

like I said, it was totally fine and VERY realistic in all aspects when you take the time to really set up your patches. For what it's worth Vernon Reid used GR live going into a Crate combo (V series) for awhile and live it sounded great (I saw him twice when using it.).

I've used GR a few times live and it always worked great. All you really need is a solid laptop to use it with, nothing overboard (you're not running 20+ tracks in ProTools ), and it'll be just fine. I ran it into a SS power amp, and then into a 2x12 guitar cab, and 2x10 bass cab (to have something like a full range array). If you take the time to setup GR properly it sounds incredible.

i would say it gets there ok, buy sounds slightly more digital nowadays.

it was over the top, or very crunchy

Ok when I went to try things out I turned off the pre-amp/amp modeling button and I got tons of feedback?!?! I was very confused. It might be because when I made that patch I was going direct into the input of my old amp with the GT-10 and there is a setting for when you go directly into the amp from the GT-10, and that is the one I used. That's at least what I think the problem is, so sorry still no answer to your question.
    8. Hybrid138
I haven't notice any tone loss but when I do use my GT-10 it usually has a fair amount of effects. Next time I try it out, I'll turn off all the effects and check to see if I hear a difference so I can better answer your question. I usually have amp modelers on also when I use my effects and I haven't tried having those models turned off to see how my patch is affected... I'll test that too.

      hahah hey man

FWIW, I don't think it will take 6550s.

My favorite tubes in it were a set of Sovtek 5881s that I pulled from the old Soldano poweramp before I shipped it out. They had more focus than the 6L6s, and a fuller, thicker low end than the EL34s I tried.

I'll let you know as soon as it comes back from the repair shop

I'm not anymore. I recently moved to Oklahoma City. However since that is their first show with the new lineup (two new guitarists) I'm making the road trip to attend. Should be a good show.

Why it is indeed sir ;)

:yesway: thx for sticking up 4 impending doom - i like the way you think!

I recently switched it up for ch1:

      fat mode, 100W?, tube rec?:
      master: 5
      pres: just under 4
      bass: just over 4
      mids: 6
      treb: 6
      gain: 4.

I use the neck pickup with the volume rolled back, TS stays on.

ch2: brit, 50W?, diode? (too lazy to check haha sorry)
      master: 4
      pres: 2
      bass: 7
      mids: 4
      treb: 5
      gain: 6

output wherever, bold mode usually. I tried to approximate my tubescreamer's crunch tone with ch2, its not quite there but for true blue crunchiness it's definitely got that.

Hey there! Columbia, eh? I'm over in the eastern corner, Johnson City.
    17. widdlywhaa
LOL i been really busy too. Yeah I gt promoted to the guitar tech position at the store WOOT!

eh, the drummer I had lined up moved out of town and the Vocalist we we're talking to just all together quit talking to us.
    18. widdlywhaa
      Hey man! How ya been!?
    19. xtrustisyoursx
Well then I'm afraid I'll have to do everything I can do encourage your GAS in every post I get the chance to.
    20. xtrustisyoursx
As soon as you get an Axe-fx (which will be soon based on the amount of GAS your posts display) you'd better let me try one. I've been considering it, and if it actually feels anything close to a real amp, it'll seal the deal. All the demos in the world can't show me that
