Say I wanted to use no potentiometers with my guitar, how would this effect things? The OP says that more resistance = brighter tone, but I would think that zero resistance would mean a fuller tone, yes?
EDIT: whoops, sorry about that! vvvvvvvv
The V3M is amazing. The clean channel is SUPER clean, I actually think I won't need any compression. Second channel, I use for a very light bluesy overdrive, third channel is for real dirt. Second channel was a breeze, because I'm not too picky with that kind of sound (this is SS.org not TGP...
It's been a very long time since I have had a real amp. I had a Hot Rod Deville 410 a few years ago and sold it after I discovered Amplitube 3. Fast forward three years and I miss having an amp, a real amp and pedals and the whole shebang. The new setup is less convenient than Amplitube, less...
Right, but at the end of all that effort, you have audio files, recorded on one set kit one time. If you decide later that you don't like the way the Snare sounds after all, guess who's fucked? Not me, because I can change the sound of the snare with a click and a drag.
I loved this track on Youtube when I happened upon it through your signature. Loved the project name, composition, everything. Still like it, too.
Keep up the good work, bro.
EDIT: Could you maybe post up a tab? I'd love to learn this. :)
So I had tried a couple of freeware limiters to no avail (they would have regularly occurring decreases in volume), before finally referring to my old friend IK Multimedia. I used their T-Racks 3 Brickwall limiter and some compression on the two tracks in this thread, which should have fixed any...
The track is incredibly well written, I'm jealous. That said, it sounds a little dull and flat on my HS80Ms. Maybe add some more treble and high midrange (not too much, maybe 2.5 dB at the most)?
EDIT: After listening to it again, I guess I was wrong. Sounds fine now. :S
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :)
My influences are mostly prog-metal. BTBAM, Animals As Leaders, The Human Abstract, (I'm absolutely giddy about the new album coming out) etc.
Assuming you're talking about Argot, I'll write a little bit on that. A lot of times I write riffs that are only...
I'm glad you like it. :) I'll bump up the songs and re-upload soon. Send me a PM with your email address, and I'll send you the solo'd tracks and the little advice I can share as a novice recording guitarist.
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :) I really liked your recent track with the whammy-bar stuff in it.
I'm glad you like the guitar tone. I really like all your recordings, so it's nice to have your input on these. :) Which track should I raise the drums on? I'm thinking both, but if you thought it...
I'm glad you all like the compositions. That's honestly the part that worries me the most. I've got a couple of ideas on how to fix the clipping, some have worked better than others. I've rendered what I've gotten so far, hopefully this fixes the clipping you guys said you heard. They're...
The tone thing is, sadly, a mixture of Amplitube, my playing, and my mixing ability. I totally understand what you meant about the snare thing, though, and I think I've fixed it with some of the suggestions you made, they were very helpful. That said, I'm holding out for more input before I...
