I totally agree! These things are awesome, I was most concerned with accuracy and these things not only boosted it but gave me a much more articulate attack on the string. I don't think I'll ever be able to use plastic again.
That's cool, the picks look really good and all of them seem to get very good reviews. I wanted to get something a little cheap since this is my first time buying them. Would you happen to know the thickness of the picks? I'm hoping the horn is really sturdy since I don't use flexible picks very often.
i actually run it infront of the amp. At home i put it throught the loop in my AC30, but at venues i dont bother with the effects loop at all. I prefer the way the synth-y sounds sound when they are distorted instead of the reverse. There are lots of routing options though for the M13 where you can put analog pedals in the mix. pretty cool but i havent bothered. too much wiring hahaha.
ive actually really been liking it. There are a tons of really usable and experimental options on it. I plan on using it in conjunction with my new rig and analog pedal board. gonna be a lot to carry though hahaha.
i decided to get a DAR Forza.
I live in Chicago, so I avoided shipping, but I believe it's ~50 for shipping. Go ahead and email them at [email protected] . They respond pretty quickly.
Now, you will need to set your DAW to have individual tracks for each of the busses.
I don't know how to do it in Logic, however it should automatically do it.
At least it does in Reaper, and it's really easy in Cubase.
Then, with all the individual tracks, you can do more editing if needed.
Okay, basically, let say you are working with the 3 snare mics.
In the SD2.0 mixer itself, right underneath the faders for Top, Bottom and 1176, there is 2 boxes. One of them will say Out 1 or Out 2. It will be the bottom box.
Click on it, and it will give you a bunch of options.
You want to scroll down to Bus 1.
Do the same for all 3 snare mics.
What that does, is send all of the sounds to Bus 1.
That is located to the right after all of the ambient mics.
What THAT does, is group all of the mics together.
I ALWAYS do this. Add compression to all of them and so on.
Usually add some high end.
Mine has piezo (installed by adam/elysian), carvin doesn't offer it on their 7-strings -_-
You can just ask for a sandwiched body and you'll get it. You can't send it back when you do special orders like that though.
Cubase was good for the most part. But it was heavy on resources.
So I switched to Reaper. While being completely different, and it will take some time to get used to, but it's been awesome.
I've never tried Logic, didn't particularly like Pro Tools.
Also, you can't go wrong with either Trigger or Drumagog.
However, Trigger comes with SSD samples, which are actually quite great.
Chances are, if you've heard a metal album in the last little while, there is some Slate drums on it.
Anything you hear from Joey Sturgis is all Slate drums.
