Christopher Har V: Prog metal guitarist seeking bandmates and collabs.

My BandCamp (https://christopherharv.bandcamp.com/) and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/thegr8HarV) may serve as a musical resume for those interested in collaborating. My current goals are to get at least a bassist, ideally in the Minnesota area, who would like to join me in my musical endeavors. But this day in age, we can do things virtually too. You could be in Russia and we could work something out, at least for a one-off collab on an album.

My name is Chris Harvey, and I’m seeking to create a truly Progressive Metal band from the ground up, with like-minded musicians. My influences range from Led Zeppelin to Dream Theater, from Meshuggah to the Naruto Shippuden OST, from David Helpling to Joe Satriani, from Zayaz to Jinjer, etc. The role I seek in this band would be no more than that of a guitarist and A songwriter — not necessarily THE songwriter, not necessarily THE lyricist, not necessarily THE leader. I am willing to fill such roles if need be, but I will not insist on it. I have the ability to produce quality demos, except for recording live drums.

In this age of technology, any sincere musician should have at least a few of their performances documented — be it from a cheap cell phone video-camera, from a webcam, from a damn tape recorder, ANYTHING that can be sent each other’s way before we meet up for a jam, so we can at least see a little bit of what each other’s musicianship is about. This saves both of us time. (My musicianship can be found on the websites in the above image, under my artist name.)

This hypothetical band of ours could start with just a bassist and a drummer, in addition to myself. Those are the musicians that would be the best for getting the ball rolling on this. In the big picture, it would be ideal to also have a second guitarist, a keyboardist, and a vocalist. But I would be content to be the essential 3-piece for years, if that’s how things turn out. While a bassist and drummer will be essential to form the foundation, I am open to beginning this project without a bassist or drummer — with any interested guitarist, keyboardist, or vocalist as well.
