Man... Black Dahlia's been a favorite for forever. Loved hearing Trevor on podcasts, been catching up on Jasta and saving the most recent Trevor episode.
Just tried to listen to it on the way to work, Trevor said they hopefully had two full years of touring ahead, and I had to shut it off :(
I love my 7 and 8 string, but there's just something about stringing up a regular scale guitar 13-56 and tuning down to B. Maybe it's nostalgia for all the pre-baritone & optimized strings death metal bands I grew up with, maybe it's the slightly wonky intonation (which is nowhere near as bad as...
Something’s up with relief, action, a high fret, or a combination. How many wraps around the tuning post you use won’t make it feel tighter or slinkier.
Some guitars tend to feel pretty slinky. Go figure, my EBMM JP-6 is one of those. 10s feel like 9s kinda thing.

Does 24 make much difference over 18? The LTD has a battery box, and I nuked the tone knob, so there was plenty of space in the compartment for the second battery.
One of the things I love about EMG is the 1000+ hour battery life. The 12V batteries appear to have 1/10th the capacity of a 9V.
Got my LTD M-1000 back earlier this week, and man... a pair of 81s at 18V just works so well. The neck pickup is backed off slightly, and kicks tons of ass for heavy thrash riffing. I've been using 81s off and on for over 20 years, and still the only pickup I've heard that work for heavy riffs...
Just bought a Macbook Pro M1, hooked up my iRig HD2, and downloaded the Neural Gojira trial. First off, sweet baby Jeebus, this plugin is sweet. I got some great tones out of AmpliTube iOS with the iRig, but this is plug and play awesomeness.
Two questions: Connected to a power amp and cabinet...
I don't care, as long as there's no gross poly on it. For the longest time, I avoided maple boards because of the poly. About a year ago, I wound up with a really sweet Tele, took the time to scrape the poly from the entire neck, oiled the bejeezus out of it, and it's one of my favorites.
My Tele is a mid-90's Tele Plus v2. Rather than the Lace dually bridge, it has Lace singles in the bridge, middle, and neck. It's funny, on a Strat, I'm all about the middle pickup, but never used it on this guitar. Swapped the guard out for a normal one, ditched the middle pickup, wired up a 4...
